Each nub still needs to go in a hole. I think they’re looking for some kind of physics defying solution for two holes or nubs to stick together. Maybe one that doesn’t have holes or nubs and is just meant to sit alone.
You can also put the edge of a flat between the nubs of another block. There are so many variations beyond hole-to-nub if you just try for a few minutes.
