    So I actually set up holoplus a while ago on my PC, naively thinking that maybe it could replace Xitter for holo news. It’s accessed via a burner Google account, installed via Aurora, installed via Obtainium, emulated on an old version of Android-x86 with the maximum resolution that I could run it at (…running at which breaks the task button), running in VirtualBox. It’s – shall we say – not the best experience, and still basically only has a news feed and not much else in the way of first party posts.

    Somebody please wake me up from this hell where most of juicy non-video official holo stuff is only available on Xitter - the fanart, clips, and animations can only sustain me for so long ;~;

      Some talents already have Bluesky accounts (here’s a starter pack made by someone on the subreddit a few months ago). Not all of them post there but it’s a start.

      If things go as they do at the moment I expect Cover to move, or at least mirror, their official posts there within a few months. Hopefully sooner than later.

        Yeah I was happy to see Calli using it when someone posted it here, but after a couple of weeks or so of posting there she just… stopped ._. Of all the accounts in that list, it looks like Shinri (Yagoo bless him) is the only one still using it.

        So rather than these accounts being the first wave in a migration, it feels more like a failed test balloon. It’s a little pessimistic of me, but at this point I’m not holding my breath on a full-scale mirror (let alone a full-scale migration where they also post replies etc) unless Xitter does something that more directly interferes with the experience that logged-in users still have.

          Eh, I don’t think it’s that bad. Mio posted 17 days ago, Ruze 14. While they are not as active as on the bird app (I assume) it’s still something. I’m sure you know how difficult it is to convince people to use a new site/app. Add the fact that it’s a pretty new addition (all of their accounts are what, 2 months old?) on top of their Twitter profiles (something they’ve been using for a long time now) and one with a way smaller audience to boot - it’s pretty normal it’ll take a while before things start moving.

          The little hope I have comes from the fact that more and more companies are moving away from Twitter. Considering its turn to worse is most likely to speed up it only makes me more convinced it will happen eventually. Will it be anytime soon? Probably not, Cover is a Japanese company after all, but the mere fact they already decided to test the waters with an official domain for the few existing accounts feels like a good sign.

          Worst case scenario we can always start bullying messaging them about this topic, make them aware interest in their presence there does in fact exist.

            The hidden reason underlying my pessimism is that their activity is just mirroring top-level posts - none of them actually seem to have actually “fully used” it by interacting with other posts on there. Half the fun is them arguing with each other over tea vs coffee!

              That’s completely understandable. Personally I’ll wait a few months before getting pessimistic about it but I am more of an archive hopper rather than someone who actively monitors for the latest news and posts so that makes it easier for me.
