While I agree with this, I still think people who repeatedly bring up how opposed they are to something, apropos of nothing, are a bit strange and at best probably need to talk through some stuff.
Calling out your dislike of something when it’s presented to you is fine. A pattern of interrupting unrelated conversations to do so is a bit worrisome.
Bingo, if I unprompted went on a rant about my disdain for Calvinism it would be out of place and fucking weird whereas within a conversation of Christian theologies that missed the mark about the overall message a rant about Calvinism would make sense.
I can agree with that somewhat. Time, place and how often it comes up would make me mildly suspicious of someone, but I feel like I often see people instantly jump there without any additional information.
