Cuba cant make them leave. There isn’t an ally who can back them up and go toe to toe with them like there was for a brief period between 1950s and the late 1980s…

That’s what happens when you just click through - you have legally agreed plus agree to binding arbitration for all future disagreements , in a venue of their choice.

And they’re the kind of bully where the rest of the world just disappointingly sighs and has to deal with because they know Russia is absolutely no better and China is meh.

The rest of the world sighs because american are crazy and have used nukes before and would do it again. Bully strategy. China and Russia are just more of the same.

The US military has a strong no first use policy with nuclear weapons that has been in place since the beginning of the cold war. They would absolutely not do it again unless someone else launched first

gratest = biggest army?! That’s a very USA perspective, but a perspective nonetheless

The American government sends the Cuban government a check every year for the “rent”.

Unless something has changed, Cuba has never cashed a rent check, because they don’t want an American base.

It’s incredibly fucked up, but it’s the only A&W combination Taco Bell in Cuba

Previous Cuban governments cashed the rent check; the current government hasn’t.

They accidentally deposited one cheque in the 50’s.

It’s not like its any money on a government scale. Hell, even on a personal level it’s cheap as fuck for an annual rent. My small duplex has a highers rent than what America pays in rent for gitmo; ~4000$

It is an acute example of the whole world’s problem with American military bases on foreign soil. They want them to leave but can’t make them.

Djibouti is very content to have the protection that a foreign military base offers. That’s why they let China build one too

Because when you have missiles, you get to make the rules, and they don’t have to be consistent.
