I’m pretty sure everyone with a “Normal” childhood would rather have 6 million to their name when they turned 17 tbh.
Grass is always greener on the other side. Although the side with 6 million is pretty damn nice. Imagine not wanting that.
Every young celebrity out there saying “the desert on the other side is greener”
People literally get bullied in real life and then still end up broke at 18. I’m not going to be a weirdo that pushs for it, but if a contract falls into my kids lap, she’s going to be in every movie lol.
I thought that last bit was about child actors and then you threw in a twist
I don’t generally eat the onion, but I admit, you got me
I think everyone feels a little lost after doing something for 8 years. It’s a routine and then one day it ends. I imagine it’s even harder when you’re 12 and that thing has been your whole life.
I’m glad that it sounds like she is well adjusted. I hope we hear more about child stars that had her experience. So often we hear the horror side, a side that is hopefully on the decline and gone.
I don’t expect child acting to go away anytime soon. I think for some it is likely a benefit. But it’s clear that a safe environment and attentive parents are a requirement.
But it’s parents trying to get their kids into acting to begin with, and I think that attention seeking mindset is rarely found in parents who give a shit about their kids.
I’m trying to remember the person, but there was like only one instance I saw where the kid wanted to be an actor and the parents kept their jobs, because they said “your job is not to take care of us, it’s the other way around” and the kid also got to keep all their money, and they turned out to be a decent adult. So yeah I think the parents play a really big role in how that child turns out and if they are just milking them for money.
Privilege speaks, and we’re all supposed to listen.
She was an expert brought in to talk about Modern Family on a recent episode of a trivia podcast I love. Really enjoyed hearing her talk about her experiences and how she found enjoyment in her school’s theatre.
Sounds good that she’s questioning it but I think she’s forgetting the precarious situation a lot of us are in.
Her net worth could save thousands of people who are going to die in the side effects of poverty in the coming year.
What weird thing to put on a 17 year old
Not really, if you’re old enough to bitch about your privileged childhood, you’re old enough to be told the truth…
She’s not bitching, she’s sharing her opinion and perspective. Take a chill pill.
She’s showing her “lack” of understanding. And her sad opinion that “normal” somehow includes food, clothing, shelter, happiness…
Call her out on her bullshit.
Why are you on the Internet, don’t you know your Internet bill could be saving people’s lives from poverty and starvation? Know your privilege
I believe she got lucky with a good working environment and a good family unlike her co star Ariel Winter who only got half with an abusive mother.
Aubrey Plaza is so goddamn hot
Um. What?
It’s a museum to all actors with the name Aubrey, but it’s located in Rio de Janiero and that’s far too warm of a climate zone for my nordic blood. Last time I was there I got heat stroke
How much money she have to her name? 6M.
Thought so.
What is the logic here? She’s a child actor/former child actor. Has an opinion on child acting. But because she was a successful one she’s not allowed to speak??
Pretty easy to say I wouldn’t recommend something when you are set for life from it.
