ive seen MULTIPLE videos of white people in TEARS crying about “im so happy to be alive… to talk to chinese people… and know we were the same all along and we are all siblings” like ???

tell me im not the only who sees how weird this “wholesome” fad is.

the mild annoyance i get from seeing americans treating random chinese people on a social media app as if they were literal aliens from another world supersedes any transient satisfaction from seeing americans get “deprogrammed”

the problem is, its not just hexbear. on twitter you have “leftist” accounts joining hand to hand with right wing racists on attacking “identity politics”. the way i like to think of it is that the white western left is similar to the israeli left. should i spend my emotional energy with the matters and discourses of the “israeli left”? id rather not.

i shouldve listened to my friend. hexbear people are white chauvinists and many of them dont even know it. why are there unironic “leftists” here complaining about “idpol”.

im thinking of how few spaces there are online that are predominately poc/non western and explicitly communist/left. its a shame. but i like to believe most poc leftists are doing irl work. at least thats my personal experience. social media is a white man’s kingdom
