Often I wonder why I, being child free, should not have fun with all the things that are generally considered wrong. Like watching obscene movies, having sex and drinking alcohol. Since I don’t want to have kids or get married, I think you’ll think I’m crazy with my post. What do you think about living such a life?

I mean… Do whatever makes you happy?

And you can do all of that being married and with kids. Lifestyles aren’t mutually exclusive.

Ehhhhhh, I mean it’s technically possible but very different. I play on a softball team with a mix of married with kids, younger folks, cf couples etc. Married with kids can almost never come out to post game drinks unless it’s organized well in advance or only one parent comes…

Or obscene movies, again, possible but with pretty big time restrictions balanced around everything else.

I always tell people that I don’t want children because I am children. I still really enjoy going to amusement parks, fairs, and arcades, stuff my coworkers say they’re way too old to do because that stuff is just for kids.

And to be honest, when I go to those places, I’m so glad I don’t have to deal with a kid begging me to buy them junk that they’ll forget about next week!

The things you mentioned aren’t considered wrong to do even if you’re not child free. I have two kids and still watch obscene movies, have sex with my wife and drink alcohol when I want to. I’m just more careful about how much I do of those things because now I have other people depending on me. When I was CF I also did those things but I only had myself to worry about…

They are if you belong to the important majority of religious people wanting to impose their own restrictions on the lives of everybody.

Those sound like normal things. At least where I live it’s considered weird not to drink alcohol and not having sex.
What do you consider obscene movies?

why I, being child free, should not have fun with all the things that are generally considered wrong

As long as you don’t infringe on anybody’s rights or break any laws, why shouldn’t you?

Is this a question you truly ask yourself or a block you really have? And if so, what do you think is the main cause?
