I cannot understand this. Paper straws are generally as good as the plastic ones as long as you don’t leave them for hours and hours. If you’re doing that, get a metal one, they’re superior in every way.
But if we get rid of plastic straws I won’t have microplastics in my brain, blood, and balls.

Some people have been injured or killed by falling on them, because it’s a rigid metal pole kept upright and by your head.

You can also get injured from a glass bottle, or even a glass straw, so it just takes caution. I normally do strawless now unless they offer metal straws, so I could do that but sometimes you do need a straw.
