Summary

House Ethics Committee Republicans temporarily blocked releasing findings from a probe into allegations of sexual misconduct and other accusations against former Rep. Matt Gaetz, now Trump’s nominee for attorney general.

The report may be reconsidered on December 5, as Senate Republicans deliberate his controversial nomination.

Gaetz denies the allegations, including claims he had sex with a 17-year-old.

Senate Democrats have requested FBI records on past investigations. GOP allies praise Gaetz’s loyalty to Trump’s agenda.

AP news is clearly not hiring the best editors anymore.

The word ethics in House “Ethics” Committee was not put between quotation marks at any point in the article.

If he was innocent, they would release the report. There’s only one reason why it would ever be up for debate.

They’re still in the “it didn’t happen” phase. Next week they’ll admit it happened but it was consensual and the media is biased for bringing it up

I Understand. I don’t know why the Party AGAINST Pedophiles would want to Exonerate America’s FUTURE AG who’s being accused of Pedophilia and Sex Trafficking either!

Because they’re not actually against pedophiles. They are pedophiles, but they can’t admit that. So they claim other people are pedophiles, like transgenders, and use that to shift the conversation away from the real issues. So were instead having to deal with defending baseless accusations with no proof, while they slip through in the chaos.

And since the media has abandoned any semblance of journalistic integrity under their oligarch owners, they are failing their duty to accurately educate the populace on both current and past events like they once did fairly reliably.

What’s the big deal? Was he found innocent, like he says he is? Cool, release it. Something something if he has nothing to hide.

Or was he found guilty? Cool, release it.

I’m not advocating for it, but how has no one been punched or slapped senselessly yet? I don’t think I could show this kind of restrain around such blatant, malicious, bad-faith actors. I don’t know if I commend or question this level of restraint.

Of course, after media attention does down they will just silently drop it.

Anyone on that committee that cares about justice should leak it.

What does the right always say about privacy: if you got nothing to hide you got nothing to worry about?

Put it out there. Let’s see.
