Frogan, Vio, Denims, and Capri are all friends of Hasanabi. I think they’re all Leftist. Frogan is a muslim woman and said she hopes that American soldiers get PTSD for helping Israel (based). Vio is comedy twitch stream, but I think with Leftist sympathy. Vio also lives with / is dating Central_Committee (Mike_From_PA on twitter), which is the second largest self-proclaimed socialist news channel on twitch. Denims is a woman on twitch who talks about some Leftism stuff. Capri aka CapriSunnPapi is Palestinian/Lebanese man. Frogan and Capri both have family who live in Lebanon. I think these are actually cool people, not vaushite people.

here’s a video where Frogan and Capri talk about their family in Lebanon. They talk about their families being bombed by Israel.

The bans were probably lead by Ethan Klein and Destiny’s community.

Ethan and Destiny are taking credit for the bans and gloating on their shows, in reality the ADL claimed they spoke directly with Twitch staff which was followed by the bans

This shit is so obviously racist, straight up targeted harassment of Arab and pro-Palestine streamers by zionists and their right-wing allies

And to be more specific, it could be based on an insinuation that the hummus brand name was code for “Israeli-borne Jew” that I saw ethan saying it’s a thing based on comments on the D psychos.

Which is of course 100% not real but who gives a shit right.

Do you want to know something funny? The term Sabra comes from the name of the prickly pear cactus plant in Hebrew and the settlers assumed the cactus was a native plant to the territory. So they thought a plant represented them that they assumed was native to the land, but actually was not at all native to the land.

Since the early days of Jewish immigration to then-Mandate Palestine, Israelis have called the ideal Israeli, who is born in the country, a sabra: tough on the outside like the thorny fruit, soft on the inside like its sweet flesh, and native to the soil like the plant. (Although like many Israelis, sabra is actually an immigrant, having arrived from the Americas via Spain several centuries ago.)

Ethan can go fuck himself. Typical Zionist Jewish supremacists piece of shit. The only issue ever is anti semitism for him. He doesn’t give a shit about anything else. He’s so obsessed he has to create a problem when ther isnt one. When you’re on the same side as destiny you’ve completely lost the plot. Fucking assholes like these just making everything worse makes me such a pro doomer and the way things are going with the environment I guess I have something to be happy about.

i mean yes in the end it’s all streamer drama (to all those that will be like “who are these people ?” to sound cool)

but at the core but it does demonstrate the outsized influence that can be deployed against even the mildly leftist pipeline types. there is precious little in this space for younger people that isn’t chud, chud-adjacent, straight fascist, or fascist adjacent zionazi.

it does show how quickly and throughly the entire tiny ecosystem of leftist creators could be absolutely shut down if there was a cross platform coordinated ban. imagine just every leftist instantly having all their socials closed, banned from every platform, utterly silenced and how little anyone would be able to do about it.

      because it’s coming

Hopefully some of these big communities will see the writing on the wall and move to places like lemmy, matrix, etc. If all the big leftist streamers got together they could probably afford to make their own site they control, and multistream to it, and twitch or something that way when a ban comes they have it to fall back on.

The term alludes to a tenacious, thorny desert plant, known in English as prickly pear, with a thick skin that conceals a sweet, softer interior. The cactus is compared to Israeli Jews, who are supposedly tough on the outside, but delicate and sweet on the inside.

which ya know, additionally silly when you consider the plant is from the Americas, and was widely used in colonial states as a living fence

“Sweet and delicate inside” is a hell of a way to describe “full of rancid shit and bloody entrails” tbh, they’re so full of themselves lol…

What part is the “sweetness” again? It’s certainly not given to the indigenous Arabs- so who is it for? Non-Arabs, like the Asian laborers they prevent from fraternizing with locals or having sex whatsoever in the country (racist racial purity bullshit from the sounds of it)? To their fellow Jews, like the Ethiopian Jews they have forcefully sterilized, the Yemeni and other MENA Jews they discriminate against, or all those Jewish people who reject their settler-colonialism- or even those fellow Zionists who simply have concerns or get in the way (that Hannibal protocol lol)?

What sweetness exactly are we talking about lol… they may as well have called the Nazis sweet, their attitude in some ways even is more repulsive than that.

banned for a sanctioned event at Twitch’s own convention is a fucking insane thing to do to them. these myopic zionist pieces of shit aren’t content with violently starving Palestinians and Lebanese people in those countries, so apparently they have to try to starve the vocal ones that live in amerikkka too. interesting that they didn’t ban the actual Jewish person that was part of the same event, whose idea it was, seemingly. they also put one of the Arab people that got banned (denims) at the bottom of the “loves sabra” tier, how does that stack with “Sabra = Jew” calculus that the ADL is pushing?

There’s 100% a life-destroying defamation suit to make against Ethan and Stephen “grandpa owned slaves” Bonnercelli opening here. Ethan especially, stupidly, has been lying openly repeatedly. Obviously Amazon and the Twitch CEO specifically can now be roped into a civil suit and also maybe defamation if their internal reasoning for this is literally “because Arabs.”

The first two could be sued by “normal” people and extract ass-destroying settlements. Unfortunately due to Hellscape and all that, Amazon could only be taken on with a chance at winning by ACLU or some other free speech organization with millions to throw at causes. The chances of actually successfully extracting a win from the company is probably not high enough (even though they did clearly cause undue harm and their TOS wasn’t even breached- not that TOS even matters) for them to engage. Nor are the consequences high enough. As in, they aren’t going to prison (yet… let the Nazis keep chipping away).

But I do hope Ethan is sued into oblivion. I haven’t seen anything from Nazielli because I don’t watch his dumb shit. If he’s said anything even 1% as defamatory as Ethan in the last month or so, rope his ass in too along with any other of the pro-genocide dumbasses. The case would be pretty straight forward. Nothing to do with actual pro-Palestinian sentiments just a pure factual look at “Was this anti-semitic… no, clearly not, Ethan, bend over, reach into deep asshole, pull out cash. Steve, you’re next.”

I did watch the leftovers show but even dropped that too once Ethan decided he was would come in weekly and read Destiny’s “debate” talking points at Hasan and then refuse to actually respond with a counter point… and also refuse to concede that he’s a dumbass.

But did he lose that suit? Never have I felt simultaneously happy and yet disappointed at the same time. Because that guy kinda legitimately sucks… but so does Ethan. Hmm.

I think it’s still ongoing, but he lost his anti-SLAPP motion in California, which happens like 10% of the time, and basically means the judge felt there was enough evidence to prove that he knowingly spread false info.

Honest question: how much would such a lawsuit rely on the definition of antisemitism, and how much of an issue is it that the US congress has been making a specific push to include anti-zionism in the definition of antisemitism?

I honestly kinda doubt our justice system would give them a fair definition right now…

I dunno. Not a lawyer, etc.

I would say it’s probably relevant that she and Twitch are in California which to my knowledge has not adopted that insane, ironically antisemitic “antisemitism definition.”

Also that law was for specific purposes relating to funding by the US gov to people and colleges specifically. Ie if they are ruled antisemitic (a college, etc.) they are disqualified from federal funds. I understand you were asking, not suggesting or whatever, so, I’ll just leave it at that. It would depend upon the judge and any appeals that came (writing this from the POV of Frogan, main target here)… assuming she even won. I would say in my understanding of the law, it would be brought up by the defendant, 100%, but if the judge is a state judge and actually being “fair” and following the correct procedures… then they’d be seeking out like “is she specifically saying antisemitic things? Is she holding up known symbols? Like what is the basis for calling this specific incident antisemitic?” On the other hand, she would be arguing she did nothing to lead to that assessment by the defendant. That they knowingly, falsely spread this narrative despite immediately being pushed back on by the involved parties with explanations, that they did not retract the statement and they did all of this with clear, stated, malicious intent to have her livelihood cutoff. (Maybe I should’ve been a lawyer… nah, kinda hate lawyers)

But, I concede, this all does hinge on people being fair. I think this case is so far beyond the pale, so egregious, that even a hardcore Zionist judge would find that it was defamation if only to preserve their own reputation… such that it matters. But, again, who knows. People have gotten away with far worse and people have been successfully “punished” for far less.

They didn’t “ban” Israel - that was another half-cocked Diverocelli lie. Twitch put out a statement on it, but basically they turned off the ability to signup via email in the days following Oct 7 last year because they didn’t want people uploading, you know, all the shit going on. They said they forgot to turn it back on for some segment of the region and have now fixed it. Also, they turned off new account signups for not just Israel Israel but the entire region occupied by Israel. So, another point against the dumbass Bonerelli fans thinking they had a point. If anything it sounds like Twitch is anti-Palestine as in they hate the land and anyone living there. They don’t care who lives there, just ban the region (sarcasm, obviously)

Two weeks out from the election it would be a terrible strategy to intentionally deplatform the largest leftist pipeline on the internet, especially considering the potential to radicalize scores of disillusioned liberals

If would also give Ethan and destiny exactly what they want, which is to silence all pro-Palestinian voices

Hasan’s strategy of largely ignoring Ethan and using the drama as launching pad to educate on the crimes of Israeli apartheid is driving Klein up the wall, the man is spiraling

Replacing that with an online hunger strike just isn’t efficient or likely to be effective in any way

Obviously your post is in bad faith and honestly disgusting. You see a post where people are being silenced for supporting Palestine and you are trying to shift the blame to someone you don’t like a personal level. You saw pro-palestinian and pro-lebanese voices getting silenced, 2 of these people have family being bombed, and you try to make this into an opportunity to stir up drama. You are gross.

All of the people who were banned are friends of Hasan and have direct communication with Hasan. None of the people who are banned would want Hasan to stop streaming. They like that he reports Israel’s crimes to thousands or millions of people. It is very likely that Hasan is talking to them right now to try to help them out and possibly also talking with twitch to try to get rid of the bans.

Hasan is a huge fucking money maker for Twitch. Maybe their biggest. I’m not shifting blame to Hasan. These accusations are bullshit, and Hasan should go on strike and make it hurt for Twitch. No one else on the platform is running 30+ minutes of ads a day to 40K+ viewers and bringing in $35K+ a month in subs. If he didn’t have that sort of power and impact on their operations, then they would have banned him for 30 days, too. Do you think the ADL didn’t ask for it?

EDIT: And he’s about to enter his biggest money making period for twitch with the electio

EDIT: By the way, @[email protected], since I forgot initially, go fuck yourself for me “bad faith”. You care more about your slop watching Hasan than doing literally anything to actually stand up against Twitch and these fucking racist zionists. Calling me bad faith when when you are about to give Twitch $7.99 or watch their ads as a reward for banning Pro Palestine voices. Nothing is stopping Hasan from going to YouTube or Instagram or TikTok, plenty of other streamers already stream there.

This isn’t how strikes work lol. One streamer withholding labor doesn’t have leverage in this way. Twitch would either ignore it or just punish him. All this would do is silence the biggest pro-Palestinian voice on Twitch.

There’s about to be only one pro-Palestine streamer on twitch at this rate. How long will that last?

Hasan isn’t some normal streamer. The revenue he brings in for that company probably covers a couple staff’s monthly salaries. He alone makes ~$250K/month, and because he hits the $100K threshold in a couple weeks, that means twitch is also making $250K/month off of him.

I just cancelled my Turbo subscription over it and I selected other and told them that if they are going to treat Arabs and Muslims in a racist and unfair manner, then I don’t want to give Twitch my money. I’m not a streamer but that’s the most I can do right now. I’m leaning toward a 30 day boycott as well.

He could at least cover all of Frogan + co’s Twitch salaries for the month they are banned similar to a strike fund. (edit) It is his podcast cohost from leftovers who is running this smear campaign so he does have some responsibility here especially since he made money from leftovers working with Ethan.

I’m (delusionally) hoping that he’s trying to catch KKKlein in something that is provably slanderous so he can sue him, but I’m not holding my breath. At least 3 of the people banned have a Patreon for their podcast. I’m gonna sub in the morning since I cancelled my Turbo subscription. I don’t know if Denims has like a Patreon or something.

Well hopefully even if he doesn’t do anything, people get together support them while they are banned, it’s really just the Palestine version of the red scare, they are only being disciplined for being pro Palestinian, I don’t think the higher ups at twitch are dumb enough to think they are actually antisemitic or whatever they are being accused of.

It’s great to know that support for standing up Pro-Palestinian voices goes about as deep as the extent to which it doesn’t personally interfere with slop consumption. Hasan could stream on multiple other platforms, y’all just have prersonal loyalty to a company that banned Arab streamers over bullshit charges, instead.
