Vice President Harris said during an interview with ABC News’ “The View” on Tuesday that “there is not a thing that comes to mind” when asked whether she would’ve done anything differently than President Biden.
I think that’s some irresponsible shit right here. Whether or not she thinks that, she has to maneuver around the bad perceptions of the current presidency at least in words. Saying what she said is a godsend to Trump’s campaign.
Biden has been the best Democratic president in recent memory - better than Obama and sure as fuck better than the neoliberal train wreck that was Clinton.
I think sticking with his policies would be good but for fucks sake democrats need to actually sell the good shit they’re doing. Lean into Khan, the dockerworkers union, college debt forgiveness… stop being afraid of the socialist label because whatever the fuck we do Fox will call it socialism.
Err but, get your fucking head together about Isreal - that’s been a fucking blunder and only in the bubble of DC do pundits think it plays well with voters.
I completely agree. I’m personally not a fan of Biden or his policies (I voted for him, and I will vote for Harris), but using any objective metric you are spot on. He has been the best president in modern history for the economy, inflation, jobs, and restoring some of our reputation on the world stage. The actual numbers back all that up. His biggest mistake (an unforgivable one that will define his legacy imo) is how he has dealt with Israel, but obviously the alternative would be way worse.
“there is not a thing that comes to mind”
Of course she differs from Biden in a number of ways, as the article itself points out, e.g.,
issues like housing costs and price gouging
but by saying the first quote, she’s trying to retain voters who like Biden - while knowing that those who e.g. dislike Biden on housing costs will remember the difference and still give her their vote too.
And she also said,
“we’re also different people and I will bring those sensibilities to how I lead.”
Which is very vague - but for folks who are more dissatisfied generally with Biden, they might creatively interpret the above as Harris including them under her platform’s umbrella.
So basically this is a politician trying to win over as many folks as possible from as broad a coalition as possible.
Oh I understand, I just think leaning less on Biden in order to disassociate from unpopular issues, in order to get a broader coalition. And throwing blanket sound bites to the opposite that are trivial to loop harm that goal.
Hmm, that’s a good point. You’re right.
And people still wonder why neither one of them will decry Israel:
Probably because Hamas is significantly worse. What does your link have anything to do with this news story?
Pretty simple… people attack Biden and Harris for not doing anything about Israel, meanwhile one Amazon exec wears a pro Palestinian necklace and the internet loses its shit, calling for boycotts.

Biden did mention it in his one and only press conference that Harris was involved with every decision and had approved every policy decision.
So all these deaths in Gaza, Lebanon. Iran, et cetera, that are happening because of US proxy wars, she is equally to blame.
Bad apples never fall too far from the tree.
