There’s a crazy amount of sinophobia on Reddit, but let’s be clear, the people who fervently defend the Chinese government are being just as disingenuous.

I disagree. Us more tech-savvy people will come across, sure. But most people aren’t. And they have hobbies and jobs too, and want a place to gather online for that.

Because social media exists. There is identity attached to your online presence for the vast majority of people.
