I’ll let you know as soon as I figure it out. Like you, I was feeling pretty positive about the general direction the world seemed to be going. Fewer churchgoers every year, more “nones” with every census. But now? Fuck me, man, I don’t know. They’ve seemed to undo every progress we’ve made over the past several decades.

I agree that China’s government is being too passive about the “why” behind its wins. A lot of the people I’ve talked to on Xiaohongshu don’t have a firm grasp on these how’s and why’s, nor do they generally have much of a connection to communism in general. The government is obviously doing a good job governing, but they’re not doing a good job educating.

That’s because these two account for something like 99% of all normal matter in the universe
