It’s a great example of why I push for the use of technologies where I don’t have to trust companies to play nice with my data. If I use (correctly implemented) end to end encryption then you physically can’t access my data.

I do love piracy and I do do it sometimes. But sometimes I don’t want to spend 20 minutes finding a torrent and then another 30 minutes to an hour waiting for it to download.

I do that especially on Android. If I didn’t have to use certain apps for work/school I would be set. I have found that so many FOSS apps work better, are smaller, don’t sell my data, and just work.

Funny you say that. I despise Nord VPN and consider them HIGHLY unethical. Also they aren’t truly private because they want a bunch of infromation when signing up.

Any VPN that I see a lot of ads for and other content for makes them come off as sketchy.

I don’t get why they listened to the Turkish government. There not (to my understanding) registered there or have any kind of assests there.
