I would advise against using dates in file/folder names for almost anything except for maybe photos and documents. Always pair with searchable keywords. Will you remember when exactly you downloaded that random picture when you wanna find it a few years later? Have fun looking through a hundred /year/month/day folders.

More the latter, I organise mostly by type (movies, series, music, podcasts, comics, books, photos, images etc) and use (workfiles, documents, resources, tutorials etc). There’s was a whole subreddit about this, datacurator, not sure if something similar exists on Lemmy.

Fully agree except for “just AI nudes”, I can imagine that this is a horrible new adittion the bully’s toolbox and if what little I know about the German education system can be applied elsehwere, most people are completely uneducated when it comes to (online) media literacy, so this can become a huge problem going forward. And as always knowledge would be the key not half-assed restrictions (though I don’t care if they’d do them I hate AI with a passion) and then calling it a day.

I agree, sure they could have become a family if she would not have moved abroad or if he could have moved with her, so if anything the blame is 50/50. But in general it’s just live, you make decisions that are hard but seem right at the time and I think it’s not really helpful to blame yourself or others afterwards with "could have"s.

I think the changes of that happening are statistically neglible, though (comfortable maaaaybe if you’re really lucky but becoming rich is probably a one digit change, if that).
