Guess where surveillance capitalism is going to send you besides the grave.

That’s how the CIA killed reporter Michael Hastings for demonstrating american arrogance of McChrystal and his squad of butchers which led to the europeans funding the war on islam a little bit less.
I cannot obtain food and housing without work. I am being coerced to work under duress. I would like to get off this planet now. Like right now.
Anger murder-suicide of sadness
I think that’s called xanax
Iraq war supporters calling anyone a tankie, should be immediately flattenned by a tank
Like middle click, it did not open in a new tab.
IRC was king for a while but then it rotted and nobody repaired it
Except this doesn’t work like it should

And therefore lemmy is broken, by design
And it will not work because lemmy’s owner class wants to keep their fiefdoms to themselves unfortunately
0.001$ per watt would be way ducking better
Realistically, firefox will monetize advertising. But as long as they remain true to open source, we will have the forks to strip out the nasty bits. The normies will get less violated than elsewhere and people in the know will still have the dream browser.
This 500 million per year pay cut is going to hurt no matter what.
Seriously, seizing the means of mass communication means you own democracy, you own the governement, you own everything. Twitter, while it remains how the cultural elites communicate, is worth basically 30 trillions.
Yes, but it is the same, not a “real” link but a javascript thing
Corrupt democracies should be suicided. Electoral college, first past the post, gerrymandering, partisant suprene court, gridlocked house and senate, bankers running money, wallstreet in charge of the commons, and that’s just for starters

Elites do not have to follow the rules, that’s the one reason to become an elite in the first place!
Oh that’s semantic bleeding in the wild.
I mean, I rather not, but I rather not pay extra for nothing, usually saves 10- 30%
It’s a process for me, I open hundreds of tabs, save all URLs, strip trackers from URLs, remove duplicates, then I reload all tabs into a fresh, empty multiaccount container, then I use a scraper addon called gatherfromtabs to pickup all the prices, then I log and setup everything up to the last page of the sale, I tally up all the totals in excel, order by price, usually 100s of ads, find the absolute 3 cheapest ones, review the ads really thoroughly to avoid scams and then buy 10-20x of whatever this item was to make it worth my time.
This process will become more difficult over time.
We let them and also you need quite a lot of skill to overcome it as it is a kind of a cat and mouse game. And there’s a end game of "tell us who you are or else we don’t tell you the price, or we tell you only the ‘highest price that nobody pays’ "
Oh so it’s not just me
