Omnigamer (theres a time/place). I see #tabletop #boardgames as an in-person/social function. Enjoys #systemdesign (both #boardgamedesign & in general). I’m a “beer & pretzels” #gamer *most* of the time, but I appreciate many historical or #wargames.
Besides gaming, I’m an IT professional with a career involving non-profits in various specialty sectors (e.g. medical, education, government, etc). While I don’t talk about or represent my work here, I do follow (and boost) accounts outside of gaming as a result. I’m generally inquisitive, I adore discussions of ideas/concepts, I’m skeptical, & I value honesty (I certainly don’t sugar coat…). I’m particularly fond of history, science, and research related posts/people. I’m not here for the generic outrage, that’s one thing I don’t miss from Twitter (I filter out a bunch of hashtags on my Home timeline as a result).
While I barely have a grasp on English, I do have a DeepL translation key for other languages and I’m adventurous with it. I’m happy to follow/interact with folks who post in other languages if I know they are likely to understand my English responses (as translating outbound is more complicated).
Initial posts: 70% tabletop games, 30% misc. If I say something and you don’t understand the reference, feel free to ask!
Replies: Are >80% of my activity and (along w/ boosts) topically run wild.
Favorites: “thank you for posting, and I have no response”
Boosts: “I found this interesting/amusing (and *probably* agree with it at least a little bit)”

@octade While I don’t know of anyone right off hand, @drewww may frequent other circles and know of some folks. I know they have done some deeper work at the intersection of tech/analytics and I suspect there is a Venn diagram overlap of that and cryptography.
For the raw math component, I know that the academic disciplines typically have groups (either via aguppe or just hashtags on the larger instances). I’m aware of some for medicine and history, and I suspect there are some for high level math as well.
