That bar you’re bragging about stepping over is subterranean.
I think itch.io might allow game purchases without any account, depending in the game, but even getting drm-free games is almost always going to require some kind of account somewhere. There’s always the “high seas”, but that’s not something everyone is comfortable with.
GOG is probably your best option for completely DRM free games, and fwiw, a lot of Steam games don’t require you to use Steam to launch them. A fairly thorough list is kept here: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/The_big_list_of_DRM-free_games_on_Steam
You’re literally the only one here cheering.
If we’re trying to avoid WWIII, yes. It sucks and is unfair, but the responsible choice isn’t always the fair choice.
*Jeez y’all, I’m not saying to just roll over and die here. There are other ways to respond that aren’t “send an international force of soldiers into war, all but guaranteeing worldwide war between nuclear powers”. There’s a necessary calculus here that’s just a few steps above grade school level retribution.
Unironically, yes.
How do brainless fools like this ever make it to positions of influence? Trump has been openly supporting both Israel and Russia since the start. His version of “peace” is capitulation and/or elimination of the victims.
They think they get to wipe their hands of it because they “didn’t participate”, refusing to concede that said choice still counts as their participation. Through ignorance, cruelty, and/or privilege, they’ll blame everyone else for the state of the world while refusing to do their part.
Not to say people shouldn’t leave Twitter, but like…this isn’t going to devastate him. He’s in the inner circle. Twitter could burn down and I doubt he would even notice.
Camacho did try to kill him, to be accurate.
Just pointing it out. Lots of people probably would’ve said the same about FB before. Who knows wtf is going to happen in the next few years.
Worth considering that if Twitter ever ends up on the fediverse, the same will apply to any instance it federates with. Lemmy may be great because it’s not corporate, but its functionality necessitates that it be one of the least private versions of social media available.
Pittsburgh airport? I’ve never been in, but those bridges are iconic.
Some determitive nominalism.
He’s right, but not for the reason he thinks. AAAs continuing to prove indies are the best place to find interesting games.
This is what I don’t get about “report abuse”. It’s entirely in their power to completely ignore reports they think are unnecessary or in bad faith. They do nothing unless the mod acts on them. I got an instance ban for reporting someone that instantly resorted to cursing and insults after a minor correction from me. Apparently someone else reported the same comment (shocking) and the admin decided it was “brigading” 🙄
