Russia is more of a middle finger over the shoulder as they face away from you kind of villain.

I heard he’s in to pissing, not pegging.
Almost anything that involved the elected officials actually fulfilling their duties to the constituents would be preferable over the current system of man-children and spoiled brats throwing tantrums.
Unfortunately it’s a disease we have to fight from the bottom up. Rid our communities of corrupt and lazy politicians, sheriffs, judges, etc. We continue to vote in only those who work to better the country for all citizens, not just a privileged few, and the cancer will finally be purged.
If we don’t fix the system soon, our ability to change it will be eroded away until our system of democracy falls.
Look at this guy with the printer that lasts a year.
There is currently really no reason why Daniel Ricciardo should get a race seat at all.
There is and it should be obvious to everyone. Red Bull want him there. They marketed his “homecoming” while they evaluated him privately and as soon as they felt he was a better choice than Nyck de Vries and their juniors they put him in the car.
They probably had the contract for next year worked up before Liam stepped in, so the logical choice was to keep everything going as planned with Daniel in the car. They’ll still get to monitor his performance, which they’re clearly keen on doing, and Liam will continue to wait as the next logical seat filler after Daniel like he was already doing. At that point my assumption would be Ricciardo back to Red Bull or out of Alpha Tauri/retired from F1 by the end of next season.
I’m not trying to argue that any of this is the right thing to do, just that it seems to be how Red Bull has chosen to handle the situation.
Would a VPN get you access to F1TV or do they use some kind of VPN deterrent to region block their streams?
I think the consensus is generally that he would replace Ricciardo because Ricciardo would replace Checo. There’s really no reason Daniel wouldn’t be fast tracked into the Red Bull seat unless he truly has lost his speed and his F1 career comes to an end.
Whatever it is that Red Bull saw during his testing and sim time, they seem to believe that the Daniel Ricciardo of old will make a rapid return. If they don’t see that then they probably still replace Checo, but the replacement conversation becomes more complicated.
It would seem a cruel double standard if they were to give a returning driver who had lost his form chance after chance to show he’s still worthy of the works team when historically they haven’t given their own young drivers that opportunity.
I’ve never used Relay so I couldn’t say for certain but I believe it wouldn’t work in that case. IIRC the Relay app was updated to the subscription model of access like reddit was trying to force on everyone. If that’s the case being a mod won’t change the hardcoded behavior of the updated app.
This workaround works with Boost without any kind of updating or patching, so if there’s a third party app that did what Boost did (stopped updating but left the app otherwise intact) there’s probably a fair chance the same process will work. Any of the apps that continued to update or deleted API keys would have a much harder time I’d imagine.
I think the mindsets are too different for that partnership to make sense.
Andretti has a stated goal of being able to fight for the F1 title in 5-6 years and had started throwing money and resources at the prospect of being on the grid. While they will eventually be bound to the cost cap like everyone else, they’ve already shown a willingness to use their financial standing to their advantage. They don’t just want to compete. They want to win, and it shows.
Haas on the other hand have been on the grid since 2016 and had an F1 program at least a couple years before that. With several seasons on the books they’ve shown little willingness to do much more than survive in F1. They could be building their own cars, or Gene could have taken the initiative to add carbon fiber manufacturing to his company holdings. Anything but tread water and pray for a miracle as the Steiner Ship goes down.
It’s hard for me to believe that combination of leaders would be anything but a headache for Andretti and a detriment to a team. I think his offers to buy the Haas team show Michael wants his own team, or at least wants to be the one running the show. Who knows what Gene wants out of all this.
The Fernando storyline we never saw coming. His F1 tenure ends when no team will risk the “GP2 engine” radio call.
This might be the first person to limp wrist a shoulder fired weapon.
If you’re the mod of any subreddit, including one you create and set to private from the web interface of reddit, your account is allowed full use of the API even with 3rd party apps.
Everything mostly works as normal besides a couple bugs from an antiquated app/reddit trying to break things. Single images can’t be posted but multiple at the same time can, something to do with the integration with the image hosts. NSFW and the bulk of the app work like before though.

I’m very happy Boost is out now. I’ve been worried the Lemmy version wouldn’t be released before the mod workaround for reddit stopped working.
Now I can abandon reddit.
A big part of the push for the larger wheels was Pirelli wanting a stronger sidewall tire to deal with the insane load and energy the teams are putting through them. If the assumption is that the 2026 cars will be slower, smaller, and lighter, it would make sense to change the tire and wheel setups as part of the overall philosophy and not just as an afterthought.
