I was referring to the “Zelensky actually changed this” part of the message I was replying to. What do you think that means, if not that they forgot when he became president?
The only other explanation I can imagine is that maybe they meant to imply that Poroshenko was in Putin’s pocket, but that seems unlikely (and is also i assume not what you inferred since you replied with a link from before his presidency).

Look again at the comment i replied to and quoted in my initial comment which you subsequently replied to. Is there another way to interpret it which I’m missing?

The link you posted is from January 2014, which is the time period of his predecessor’s predecessor’s predecessor.
Zelensky’s presidency started in 2019. As late as 2018, he was still releasing comedy films which were being banned in Ukraine under his predecessor’s anti-Russian cultural laws.

mildly interesting, but i’m pretty sure the size of the largest groups (not to mention the gap between the largest and next largest) are highly variable and in some cases are not particularly large at all, so, mapping only the largest one is vastly oversimplifying things and producing a rather misleading picture. (the census bureau’s data on the subject is here in case any map enthusiasts want to make more informative maps…)
