They are getting behind her though, any video I’ve seen talking about her history with Russia, China and Syria is getting inundated with Trumpers yelling that it’s leftist propaganda and shouting that “they didn’t start talking about it until she became a republican”. It’s ridiculous and there’s no argument that would convince these people otherwise.
Most of the EU is part of it though so if they stick to it they’d have to arrest him if he enters their countries. Although I already saw France was calling it “a complex case” and saying that they weren’t sure whether they’d actually arrest him if he visited…

It’s not even 52%, in the end it’s ended up being 50% VS 48.3%. He barely got half of all votes with the overall gap only being 2.6 million votes. That’s razor thin, the only reason it worked out the way it did (apparent “easy win”) is because of the electoral college system, which is a bit biased towards conservatism anyway by giving quite a bit of power to smaller, less populated states.
Besides that, I do agree that it’s a bit of a question what will happen. I’ve seen people say that Rubio and Waltz appear to indicate a slightly different course but no one really knows besides the coming government.
And then treats them like trash. He constantly misgenders one of them and is actively supporting a government that is making them have to flee the country. What a wonderful dad…
Understandable, it’s all a matter of perspective. There’s no ideal way of democracy and any way has it’s pros and cons. I’d say that overall my gripe is a somewhat minor one but it does lead to big issues sometimes, especially during election times because the biggest party gets first dibs on creating the government. More fragmentation on your side of the political spectrum (left vs. right) can therefore lead to splintering of the votes and losing out on being the biggest.
This is more or less what happened last time. The leftist parties tried to prevent it by joining forces shortly before the election but the amount of leftist parties we have still meant that votes were somewhat splintered; that is (among other factors) how we ended up with another right-wing government after people clearly seemed to be done with over 10 years of right-wing Rutte politics.

But in a way it will. Many of these fringe parties never have a chance to make it into the government and will forever be in the opposition, meaning their impact isn’t very big. The PVV started off like this as well and their leader, Geert Wilders, has only ever wanted to be the person shouting at stuff from the opposition side of the fence. Even now, when he has the biggest party, they had to come up with some wicked solution where he’s not the PM and not in the government itself. Instead, it’s a neutral PM with some ministers and everyone else is in the opposition and constantly criticising their own “government”. It’s ridiculous and so far they haven’t gotten much done.
In my opinion, a cutoff of 5% is a bit high but I also think that parties should have more than 1 seat to even make it into the chamber, otherwise it’ll turn into a mess real quick.
People who voted for Trump lack the ability of foresight and can’t be concerned until it directly affects them. Otherwise they don’t care and will probably cheer as their neighbors get deported.
Just make sure not to take it too far if you do proportional voting. We have a system in the Netherlands that works like that but the result is that we now also have about 30 parties running for government, most of them being fairly pointless. Don’t get me wrong, it’s better than the US shenanigans but you can also go too far.
And there will still be delusional voters saying that shit isn’t going to hit the fan the second Trump takes over. It’s insane how far up their own ass they are. At this rate it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if he tries to arrest Biden the second he hands over the reigns.
It’s a lot more difficult to blame things on others once you’ve been in charge for that long and shit still fails and breaks down. That’s my hope for other countries as well, that the continued downward spiral under a right wing government eventually makes the pendulum swing back towards the left. I just hope that there’ll be politicians to jump in once the opportunity arises.
You can’t simply call it a Democrat boogeyman when it’s universally supported (and in some cases even authored) by the people that are most likely going to be in Trumps government. That’s the same as saying that it’s fine to have Hitler in charge of defense as long as the president is (initially) distancing himself from it.
If anything, I’d be worried about it even more if I was such a big Trump fan as you. What if the people that do support project 2025 make sure Trump dies shortly after becoming president just so they can fully take over? Have you thought about that?
Okay, guess you’ll find out then. I’m definitely glad that I’m just an observer from the EU if there’s people over there that are straight up thinking nothing will happen and that it’s all media nonsense. I do still feel bad for the innocent people that will get sweeped up in this but not people like you.
It’s also the fact that many people in his inner circle have even come out since the election results came out to say that they’re going to enact it (Vance, Bannon and some others). Even if Trump tries to block it he’ll l just randomly die in his sleep one night and then Vance and his creeps take over fully.
A lot of the rest of the world has either been voting their Bernies away or is in the process to do so. Right wing populism is taking over many other countries as well, just look at Europe. Almost all countries here have either right wing governments or are drifting towards it at the moment.
It’s so funny to me how a lot of the people that voted for Trump seem to think it’ll not be that bad. Dude, he literally told you ALL of his plans. Even if only half of it goes through it’s still going to get significantly harder for most people. How can you willingly vote for that?
I’m over in the Netherlands but I have in-laws in the USA and many of them either didn’t vote or voted republican according to my partner. I tried my best convincing them to at least vote but it’s pointless, many people believe that it doesn’t matter who you vote for because the secret elite in the background will determine the result anyway.
I honestly feel sick to even be in-law related to Trump voters and it’s really making me not want to talk to those people ever again. It’s hard to realize that much of her family is heavily reliant on medication for various conditions (diabetes, heart disease, painkillers, etc) and that it’ll most likely get much harder for them once Trump takes office and starts destroying Obamacare again.
The difference is that Europe should be more capable of resisting America. We’ll see if that actually happens but given how things have gone before when the EU went after American companies I don’t think they’ll budge easily.
I think some people never learn, especially the people that have their heads so far up their own asses that they only hear the FOX propaganda shouting.
It is a bit strange that they’re allowed to compete in Europe. I get why it is the way it is but you’d think that they would compete in the Asian stuff. Also, I don’t get why an active aggressor still gets to continue doing stuff like this. Russia is being banned but not Isreal?
