Apparently, the 2000s saw the amount of opium production in Afghanistan increase by a factor of 50x or so, to the point that world supply increased by 10-20x. Absolutely staggering hearing Seth lay out the connection between invasion, waste of lives and money, in service of turning a country into a narco state. Just brutal.
