Excited to see how this plays out. Looks like there’s basically nothing implemented yet though.
If you pause the video you can scrub by dragging the end of the bar. It’s terrible UX but it’s technically possible
And that’s a wrap: nobody got a majority. Looks like we get to wait for vote 2
Thank you so much for posting these. This comic has been the highlight of my mornings these last few months. Can’t wait to see what campaign is next :)
So while not technically “secret sauce,” it’s certainly “special sauce.” Good point.
Apple designed the silicon to have an “x86 mode” for the memory model ordering, as well as an undocumented mode that makes certain arm instructions set flags similarly to x86. There’s a good write up of the reasons here: https://dougallj.wordpress.com/2022/11/09/why-is-rosetta-2-fast/

Fediverse really sounds like the metaverse but for feds… Not exactly a term i want to associate with

Just call it a11n or a12n and nobody will know if they can’t count or if you can’t count
The paradox of lactose intolerance is that, if everyone is tolerant of lactose intolerance, eventually we’ll all be lactose intolerant after drinking only lactaid
I’m pretty sure it already generates thumbnails for the posts, so they may be able to reuse that code for the sidebar. Or @Ruud could just point it at a smaller image. One of these choices is much easier than the other :)
They breached the data back in February and were waiting for the IPO… I guess this is a better use of the leverage, although there’s no chance it goes anywhere
I’ve been using Photoshop for like a decade and have at various times tried using Gimp as well to see if the free competition is better. Pretty much every time I’m struck with how many features it is lacking and how bad the performance is… it was getting less than 10 fps just trying to edit a regular sized image. I’m sure with years of experience I could become good enough at gimp to handle the same tasks as Photoshop but the learning curve is so steep just to learn a program that nobody else I’m collaborating with is using.
In my opinion, the real Photoshop competition is something like Affinity photo/designer-- no subscription fee, great support, and UX that is actually nice.
Have you ever used gimp? This is objectively false
It’s an important distinction, you know!
