I literally don’t know, because federation issues over the last 12 months or so have meant I never see their content in my feed. But before that? Yes, it definitely was. Certainly more than ML and hexbear. Or Reddit.
We’re on social media right now. It’s not the big for-profit guys who lose out with that sort of legislation. It’s smaller guys, including those run for the fun of it.

We really don’t want this. America’s Section 230 is a really good legal framework, and it’s very important. Because if you didn’t have that sort of protection, it would become almost impossible for smaller competitors to enter the market. The likes of Facebook and Twitter should be made more liable than they are for misinformation that survives even after being reported—and for continuing to host individuals who have repeatedly been seen sharing disinformation. But as a default assumption, platforms should not be liable for content users shared. Unless your goal is to kill off all platforms that aren’t already big enough to easily comply.
Butcher birds do do this, but that’s not a butcher bird that’s depicted.

Uniqueness 1 in 783I really struggled today. Been looking at it on and off all day and just finally got it at nearly 6pm. Found yellow really easily, and found the idea of green quickly too, but had 5 in there.

In fact, I had 4 in green until a late realisation that “carpentry” could go in there as well. Then spent ages before I figured out purple. Took some Googling to verify that “alligator” was more likely the name of the clips in America, because the exact same clip is also called a crocodile clip.
Unfortunately in some Googling I stumbled across a snippet where someone said that swoosh and crocodile were logos, which made blue easy to get, and from there I could lock in the rest pretty easily.
“People called cancer the wolf, because it ‘ate up’ the person.” But this wasn’t just a linguistic quirk. The idea was actually translated into practice. “Some doctors would even apply raw meat to a cancerous ulcer, so that the wolf could feast on that for a while instead of ‘eating’ the patient.

They’re actually claiming to be adding almost 50% (43%, to be precise) in value, since that’s how much more you have to add to end up at 30% of the final value. (By analogy, imagine they took a 50% cut. That would be claiming to double the value. Something that used to be worth $10 is now going to cost $20 if the original wants to maintain the same cut.)
That’s all nice, but you’re dreaming if you think any of that adds up to 30% of the value of a video game.
The rent seeking on platforms like Steam, the Apple App Store, and Google Play is absolutely gross considering how little value they actually provide. I’ll be very glad to see them forced to reduce it to somewhere similar to a card transaction fee.

Most banks in Australia are completely free too. It’s only a couple of the biggest and shittiest banks (like Commbank) that have fees for regular use.
