You say that as if the POTUS elect, soon to be President of the largest military force in human history; wouldn’t do/say the exact same things.

Exactly.
What the fuck are the people going to do? Protest? He’s already discussed deploying the military/national guard/police/whatever to use lethal force against protestors/demonstrators, either jailing or executing ones not shot.
It would take a total and complete revolt for trump to face any consequences for what he’s going to do, or has already done.
And that’s not something I think Americans are willing to do until it’s much too late.
That’s how democracy works though. People didn’t show up, so it’s the same as voting him in effectively
Yeah, it is. Always check the hands. They’re fucked up on the cigarette guy and the guy presumably with cancer.
This guy knows his stuff
In some states. But not the states he was in. Plus, he likely trafficked her across state lines, which is a whole other set of charges.
Still way, way, way too high for a white supremacist goblin in human form to get.
A candidate for Secretary of Defense you say?
Right, which is why the whole 2nd amendment argument is silly in this day and age.
Never attribute to malice, that which can more easily be explained by narcissism.
I can carry 8 modern hand grenades, or 2 of those things.
The news coverage on this was the point. Bringing awareness to her people’s situation.
:line cook kiss:
The origin of the police in the US was a group hired in a state by the governor to return slaves to their slave owners.
Then they were contracted to protect the properties of the wealthy slave owners when there was a revolt about capturing slaves (some who were “free men”),and they put down that revolt with violence.
Since then, police have been conscripted to protect wealth from the lower class, by the wealthy. That was, and has been their main purpose in the US. It is not to protect and serve, that’s just a slogan they made up out of thin air and has no legal backing or requirement.
They exist for the wealthy, to stay wealthy and protect their interests/property.
Before the police, we had US Marshals, and that worked great. But they wouldn’t go after slaves for slave owners, so they invented the police.
Edit: I’ll include an article that talks about some of this.
The Mezzanine Massive Attack album.
The whole thing. First song to the last. Just listen to it.
And if you finish that: Dark Side of the Moon from Floyd.
And if you finish that, Sound and Fury from Sturgill Simpson. Bonus points if you have Netflix and watch the animated it’s written for (ultra baller)
Oh man, blast from the past.
That was my jam, way, way, way, way back when ;)
Was a RR10 Enchanter and RR10 Blademaster, plus a TL for both classes. I think my account is still lifetime comped.
Put wayyyy too much time into that :P
You could be correct.
However, Europe’s “right” is America’s “left”.
The political situation might be semantically similar, but the political policymaking is a vastly different situation between the two.
Europe, universally, believes in healthcare as a right, for example.
They won’t oppose each other. They may not like each other at some point, but their goals are completely aligned, which is the fascist takeover of america by Corporate interests.
That was a fine approach the first time around. But after almost a decade of GOP fuckery and apologists trying to blur the lines between the two parties, I’m with the guy calling out how fucking stupid it is to not call that jackass out for being a fucking idiot for trying to hide the fact that the GOP, and only the GOP, blocked all of the student debt relief that Biden tried to get through.
The time for games is over.
Adults are adults and responsible for their choices. Anyone that voted Trump or sports the GOP are traitors to democracy, and should not be handled with kid gloves anymore.
