“We have investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing” in 3… 2… 1…
I wonder how much this whole situation resonates with what happened in Argentina, when they elected Milei.
Milei to them was an obvious lunatic who would probably be terrible but had a small chance to be different, versus their traditional party who would very obviously just continue the country’s predictable economic decline.
Then again, I can’t really see any way Trump could be good for you if you’re poor. Not ever by the most charitable interpretations.
If we can just hold those sanctions a little longer. Just make sure there’s enough paperwork backing them up for a couple months of Trump’s terms so he can’t instantly fulfil Putin’s every wish… then maybe…?
Big “The police department have investigated themselves and found no wrongdoing” energy
Best of luck, guys.
I know that doing things that can eliminate a political opposition are incredibly ethically sensitive, but it’s demonstrably the correct choice here. I just wish that it wasn’t a choice that had to be made. How are these far right parties getting so many votes? Where have we failed?
This is a pretty outstanding Dipshit Move, even by the standards of Trump. And a good 90% of his actions seem stupid to the point of being actively malicious anyways.
If it were possible to award a drone with a medal for performance, then this one would have to be a recipient
Valid post, and given the scale of DnD dragons I’d say that an adventurer is about the size of a cat relative to an adult dragon. IRL, a cat being able to attack you and successfully kill you would be pretty fucked up even if it’s theoretically possible.
Incidentally however…
A cat in DnD does have the ability to reliably fight and kill a Commoner.
So what I’m saying is that it should actually be a valid plot to put humans in the position of some shitty media’s dragons- once dominant, but through the power of one especially heroic housecat who has exceptionally strong plot armour, we are reduced to a dying race, ancient and forgotten by the new era.
Boris Johnson robbed my country blind; his party’s Austerity sold off and destroyed our public infrastructure and services to such a terrible degree that it’s unlikely the UK will recover within my lifetime if at all, and that’s BEFORE you get into the truly devastating consequences imposed on us by Brexit, or the fact his verbatim orders to handle covid were “Let the bodies pile high in the streets!”. All to line the pockets of him and his billionaire shitbag friends.
…So it is with some regret that I say: I can’t argue with this statement.
Boris Johnson has a similar fascination, you see. This guy wants to be Winston Churchill sooooooooo badly. You would not believe how hard BJ wishes he could be a modern Churchill. It was an open secret that the russian government had some pretty solid influence over Boris, a lot of rumours about them having dirt on his father in particular- and many reasonable and well-founded theories that Boris pushed Brexit through at the behest of Putin. But Boris Johnson saw the war in Ukraine start and he changed overnight. He certainly didn’t give up any of his vices or become a better person, god no, not at all. But he had stars in his eyes at the prospect of going down in history as a big and strong and heroic wartime leader studied in history books, and for that reason, he absolutely jumped at the prospect of helping Ukraine. Zero hesitation.
What I’m saying is that I genuinely believe Ukraine represents Boris Johnson’s lifelong dreams as a human being. And for that reason even if Boris is a terrible person who is certainly prone to bias, he has every intention of supporting Ukraine as much as he can- hence his willingness to speak against someone that he was previously very close with.
I understand the feeling of pessimism, but let’s not forget who Trump is.
Unless pardoning them directly and immediately benefits him, he’s quite unlikely to give a shit
Excellent news, and congratulations.
I know that the numbers could always be higher, but missiles are complex beasts and production lines take time to set up and bastardly amounts of logistics to feed.
Here’s hoping it becomes 100 missiles per month soon, and perhaps even 100 a week if the war keeps dragging on.
Even as a dedicated pokemon fan that hasn’t played Palworld (the butchering mechanics don’t really appeal to me)…
I really hope Nintendo loses this, and loses it HARD. I think that some actual competition would be really healthy for the pokemon franchise, giving them an actual impetus to make sure their games are high-quality and well-supported and don’t pursue serious anti-consumer practices.
Godspeed, Palworld. Counting on you.
Just my two cents as an assembly line guy: Parts on aircraft fall into three categories
-Big custom fuckoff parts. They’re not high tech but they’re huge and they’re a specific shape so you need a huge, precise and very expensive mould/die/whatever to make them. Anyone with the aircraft and a decent engineer could design a machine to make these parts but they would be left with a smoking crater where their wallet was after getting the mould made.
-Easy parts. Sure, an aircraft fuel pipe is worth 20k, but the civilian parts are made to higher standards anyways, we can find one no problem.
-Secret technical complex parts. Proprietary cutting edge stuff, which is frankly just bolted onto already complete aircraft. Obviously you can’t replace it if you don’t even know how it works, but the US doesn’t let that stuff out of their direct control very often anyways.
Don’t fucking talk to me about engines though, those are a whole different beast
TLDR: We can totally keep our F35s in the air as long as the parts we’re replacing aren’t the skin panels, the engines, or the Secret Third Thing. And as long as we have the money.
Man. I get being disappointed. I really do get it.
But tarring all these guys with “hitler youth” when just like every other group, at worst it’s a 45-55% split… Come on. That’s a hell of an insult to throw towards people, many of whom are doing their best and didn’t vote Trump. Doing your best, doing everything that you can do, and still being met with scorn… I know how bad that hurts. I know how it sucks the will right out of you. I know it drives people away. And even if it doesn’t drive them to Trump because they’re good people, it sure isn’t going to drive them towards finding a solution.
But remember, we DO. NOT. LET. UP.
Not until every vote has been cast. Not until it’s over. Don’t get cocky, this is the narrowest race I’ve ever seen and by god there is no room for apathy or overconfidence.
Peak Konsi content, this might not normally be my style of character but I LOVE it when she gets to nonchalantly and completely accidentally upend people’s understanding of reality
Yeah, I’ve been saving hard for nearly 6 years now, I have zero debt from higher education, extremely cheap rent because I live in my parents’ backyard, and a well-paying job… and I still don’t know if I’ll be able to get a house by 2026.
If even one of those factors were different for me, then owning a home would become completely unrealistic.
And politicians wonder why we’re not having kids, huh.
WotC and failing to understand their own game, name a more iconic duo
Forgive my caps, but:
WHAT THE FUCK IS REUTERS DOING??? YOU DO NOT POST PICTURES OF A CITY’S CURRENT AIR DEFENCE LOCATIONS WHEN THEY ARE ACTIVELY AT WAR!! THAT WILL GET PEOPLE KILLED!
“But experts argue mass deportations are unlikely in the short term”
Okay, but like. Long term planning is a thing. The long term is in fact something you need to consider in the present, especially for an action that you might only have a limited window to undertake
