9·2 days agoIf nothing else, he took advantage of a coup (I think it was staged) to enact purges and is single handedly responsible for the further crashing of the value of the Lira by ignoring all advice on interest rates and doing the opposite of what economists recommended.

I think it’s more the association and how people have seen it used in the past. Lots of pairings with ‘reee’ and used to mock all sorts of ‘socially left’ people, not just liberals.
