Tempted to agree. NATO has already committed all satellite, communication, ammunition, and equipment surpluses. It doesn’t actually have much room for escalation without committing to a full on war with Russia.

Technically-- embassies are only protected from attack by their HOST country.

Russia could target the US, UK, French, and German embassies and state that they were military targets due to being staffed by military and intelligence staff. Those countries didn’t condemn the attack against the Iranian consulate in Damascus, therefore Russia could argue, they are seemingly ok with having their embassies treated as military targets by a country they are military attacking with long range missiles.

Russia could call ahead and ensure the embassies are evacuated first.
