If you click the “i.redd.it” part of the Lemmy post it’ll take you to a Reddit page containing the image which has the user’s account on the bottom left. You can even view the original post from this page. I’m using the lemmynsfw web interface for this.

There’s a few other posters in this community but it’s mostly me and it’s mostly from Reddit. It doesn’t seem like either of those are going to change in the near future. If the Reddit thing bothers or offends you I think the only recourse may be to block the community.
Unfortunately adding a note would require more effort than I’m willing to put in.
It’s a manual process. Hand selected, if you will.
The title is copied from the reddit post
I finally got around to testing this and it does work as I thought. Click the ‘i.redd.it’ link on each of my posts and you’ll be brought to a reddit page where you can view the original post. You can get the OP from there.
I actually thought you could open the image in a browser and it’d show the account on the bottom left.
Not a bot. Tell ya what. You write 50 original, generic post titles and I’ll use them for the next 50 posts I make. Feel free to dm them to me.

I wouldn’t think they’re going to be removing images but ya never know I guess. I’m working on a script/bot to auto d/l and re-up to something like redgifs via api but I see that redgifs isn’t great around here. I’m going to see if I can use another host.
Agreed 🥵
