Ok, how often do you see Hindus, Buddhists, Nepalese, Indians, Thai, Mongolians, Sri Lankans, Chinese, Japanese, Akans, Hopis, Navajo, and Tlingit peoples spray paint it on walls or get it tattooed on their bodies in AMERICA? This isn’t any of those countries you listed. The next time I see someone with a swastika on their neck and a Nazi salute here in America am I supposed to assume it’s a peace loving Buddhist with an interest in Roman history?
What was tiktoks agenda?
On Lemmy it’s not, this place is filled with pseudo-intellectuals with no critical thinking abilities at all. They literally have no idea what a ban like this means. The problem is I can’t tell I’d they’re shills or worse, they really think this is a good thing cuz “le short videos bad”. I’m starting to think that only the worst people from reddit came here.
“Other social media bad and dumb, my social media good and smart”.
You’re the same as anyone on Facebook or Twitter, you love you’re little echo chamber and nothing is wrong with it and the other ones are bad.
You love it when the government censors people because it can? What are you even on?
And other social media, like the one you’re using right now, aren’t?
You’re gonna complain about social media while on social media? Can’t wait for the fediverse apps to be banned because someone in Syria is running an instance.
Yeah because teens love opening the paper in the morning and reading about how Israel is “liberating” Palestine?
What nonsense was on there?
Tik tok had some amazing news sources. I’d say the Washington Post on there was pretty good, they actually reported on the bullshit going on at the paper as well. There was a lot of great sources on the app. I’ll say that tiktok is the only place you’ll see news on Palestine not from the pov of Israel.
You talk like a redditor, someone who needs people to hear their opinion even if it doesnt add anything.
K, if the survey is wrong then it can be wrong the other way too, maybe OVER half the user base is trans.
So you agree trans people are vulnerable and taken advantage of in the media and general political discourse but the “leftys” lost you cause you talked to some people you didn’t like? I don’t know about you but I’d rather be on the side of an annoying trans person than the side of another old racist with lead poisoning who plays the victim card when people don’t like them.
Literally anyone America can consider an adversary can be banned. I sure love my free market!
Last October I pirated around 100 horror movies and only 2 of them took longer than a day.
Beyond the Black Rainbow (2010) - took a couple of days, it was stuck at 10% for a while and one day i wake up and the whole thing finished in like 6 hours. I’m guessing someone turned on a pc that had been off for a long time lol.
Cabin Fever (2002) - this one took over a week and I was deadset on not paying for it so I just let it sit, pretty much the same thing with the previous torrent, it was stuck at a low percentage for a long time and then one day I hop on my computer and it had fully finished.
Other than that, a lot of Japanese films or foreign films in general will take a long time if they’re not that popular. If I don’t care too much I’ll just delete it and forget about it.
You might like Servant x Service, it’s not explicitly a romance anime, more of a comedy but it has some romance sprinkled in from what I remember. It focuses on a a few employees working for the local government at a DMV style office where they deal with customers all day. Light hearted and definitely relatable if you’ve ever worked a service job.
Golden Time was pretty good when I saw it 12 years ago. It’s a college setting so a lot of high school tropes are gone and the characters act more like young adults. I wouldn’t say you need to watch it, but it’s not bad.
Ore Monogatari or “My Love Story” is a favorite for me and my partner. It is a high school setting, but the characters and the pacing make it worth it. If you give it a shot just make it to episode 3 before writing it off.
You probably wouldn’t like Toradora but it’s highly regarded. High school setting again with a lot of clichés, but the clichés are used really well, and make up for the fact that you’ve probably already seen the stereotypes play out before.
How were The Onion writers able to buy their publication back? Was it just dirt cheap?
But none of this had to do with America?
I sadly live in Florida at the moment and this is the biggest fucking joke. They literally don’t even have sex ed at all. Also, I went to a tech school down here during covid for some cheap learning while I wasn’t doing anything else. I had to take placement tests to determine if I was smart enough to go to this school because I didn’t go to high school in the state so they didn’t have any of my education history. I suck at math, I’m really bad, but that math placement felt like an insult to my intelligence, the hardest question was long division, literally something I learned in elementary school, I ended up with a 100%. Florida is a joke and the education system even more so.
