Yeah. Mystery Dungeon and snap have been great spinoffs. I really hope PMD gets a new game. It’s been a while.

That’s exactly what they’re doing.
It’d love to have that over fast food garbage.
I fee like premium is really the only way to make youtube more sustainable for content creators and the platform alike. However, youtube has currently deemed that demonetized videos should lose all youtube premium revenue. That’s incredibly stupid.
Imagine if premium revenue went to creators you watched, regardless of monetization status. Premium subscribers would be highly sought after for content creators, since it’s a more reliable revenue source that gives them the freedom to make what they want. It’s good for YouTube/google too because thats less reliance on advertisers.
It could use some adjustments, maybe taking some inspiration from patreon.
AI is a duel sided blade. On one hand, you have an incredible piece of technology that can greatly improve the world. On the other, you have technology that can be easily misused to a disastrous degree.
I think most people can agree that an ideal world with AI is one where it is a tool to supplement innovation/research/creative output. Unfortunately, that is not the mindset of venture capitalists and technology enthusiasts. The tools are already extremely powerful, so these parties see them as replacements to actual humans/workers.
The saddest example has to be graphic designers/digital artists. It’s not some job that “anyone can do.” It’s an entire profession that takes years to master and perfect. AI replacement doesn’t just mean taking away their job, it’s rendering years of experience worthless. The frustrating thing is it’s doing all of this with their works, their art. Even with more regulations on the table, companies like adobe and deviant art are still using shady practices to unknowingly con users into building their AI algorithms (quietly instating automatic OPT-IN and making OPT-OUT options difficult). It’s sort of like forcing a man to dig their own grave.
You can’t blame artists for being mad about the whole situation. If you were in their same position, you would be just as angry and upset. The hard truth is that a large portion of the job market could likely be replaced by AI at some point, so it could happen to you.
These tools need to be TOOLS, not replacements. AI has it’s downfalls and expert knowledge should be used as a supplement to both improve these tools and the final product. There was a great video that covered some of those fundamental issues (such as not actually “knowing” or understanding what a certain object/concept is), but I can’t find it right now. I think the best comes when everyone is cooperating.
Glad I got my steam deck. I’ll continue to use it until deck 2 releases. Maybe I’ll even be as bold to build a pc with linux on it.
We need a thread for mystery dungeon.
Does anybody else get really sad/sympathetic over posts/drawings like that.
Yeah, it’s a mascot of a ruthless, evil company, but you can’t help but feel bad for the little guy.
I’m surprised the larger subreddits haven’t called their bluff. People keep talking like thousands are going to line up to moderate subreddits for free.
Where do you source new moderators? Ask the community? Most redditors don’t want to be stuck on hall monitor duty and most of the power users that do enjoy it are the ones protesting. Of the ones you get, you’ll have to slowly check each one to ensure they’re on your side, and not a troll/protester that’s willing to trash the entire subreddit the moment you instate them.
It’s not like their corporate connections will help with this either. They want profitability so they aren’t looking to payroll more people. How you drum up 20, unpaid volunteers to moderate a subreddit all day every day? How do you drum up 1000+ to cover a complete walkout.
You can’t do that overnight. It would take time. Even if they give these to established powermods, the span of control will just be too large to manage. The big subreddits just need to call reddit on their bluff. They need to all resign simultaneously and force reddit into this bad position, where most of the platform goes unmoderated for weeks.
Remember to leave a review and uninstall.
Thats a fair take on the situation. Just hope everyone stays wary of the situation. I wouldn’t put it past instagram/facebook to try to feed ads all across the fediverse.
Federating with a mega corp is such a terrible idea. They aren’t here to make friends. They’re here to make money off of all the hard work this community did. All YOUR hard work. They aren’t going to settle for a slice of the pie. Some way or another, they WILL try to take over.
People have left twitter/reddit because of corporate bullshit, and now lemmy and the fediverse are going to just welcome them back with a big hug? Might as well delete your account and head back to those two platforms, since the fediverse will just because another corporate controlled entity.
Reminds me of all the linux distros.
I imagine the surge in the fediverse has the linux community frothing at the mouth. Moving away from privatized software to open source, a step closer to ushering in the mythical year of the linux desktop.
It’ll join my app graveyard next to Minecraft earth.
I think thats more so a symptom of people trying to bypass apple’s attempts to remove bad reviews.
And ofc apple is using their platform to remove and suppress low ratings. Its so dam suspicious that the app has essentially only 5 star ratings now. 4.8 out of 5.
This is an actual case where 1 star reviews are completely valid.
I started to slowly realize this with the blackout. I tried using twitter and Deviant Art more, and found them to be a lot better since I could see more cool fan art.
While I still like my reddit home feed, popular and all just suck. Its mostly all rage posts made to generate outrage. I see so much negative stuff from /r/Antiwork or /r/Politics. I signed up for cat photos. I’m not here to listen to how our world is so garbage for the 100th time.
Will this realistically go anywhere? I have a strange feeling that this’ll just get swept under the rug. I hope it doesn’t turn out like that. Ideally, I’ll like to see some charges/legal proceedings brought up right ahead of their IPO.
This is the one I use. I’ve had it for a year and I’m happy with it. Colors & RGN effects look nice. Keys sound good too, and you have a variety of switch options too. I use brown switches.
Was optimistic when I heard that some* performance issues where addressed. Unfortunately it seems that the rest of the game is still plagued with issues, with a few new bugs that somehow push the performance even lower in the right conditions. Overall disappointed.
Buying S/V + the DLC would run me $80, and I’d only really play through the main story. Maybe 60-70 hours of playtime at most, and thats with all the problems. For roughy the same price, I was able to buy the Spyro Trilogy, Sea of Thieves, Fire Watch, Stray, and Deep Rock Galactic on Steam. I’m already at 250+ combined hours on all those, with only minor issues from Steam Deck/Proton compatibility.
I really like pokemon, but it’s becoming harder to justify playing it over some of these other games.
