  • There is something really ironic about all this that has happened to Bolsonaro and these politicians and military people. They did everything possible to mock and humiliate Lula da Silva and his family, party and friends. They said that Lula was the leader of the Criminal Group and the biggest thief in history, that Lula was a criminal and corrupt. They mocked Lula’s second wife, who died of cancer, and his young grandson, who also died.

Iirc, Lula ended up making friends with the guards of his cell. And he told them, a few days before his release, that he would return to power and that he would do everything possible to fuck these people over. And now, even though Lula has nothing to do with this, since it’s just Supreme Court doing the right thing, it’s good to see all these people getting what they deserve. Being humiliated in front of the whole world, being thrown in jail like the garbage they are and losing all respect and everything they’ve built, their families are being ostracized. And their supporters and voters, who wake up every day sadder and sadder for having voted for and supported these people.

  • Two of the crimes attributed to Bolsonaro are set out in a law that he himself signed when he was president of the Republic. In 2021, the then president sanctioned, with vetoes, the law that punishes attacks against democracy, approved by the National Congress. Crimes under this law served as the basis for the Federal Police report.

He probably wanted to use this against leftists?

After being indicted for attempted coup, Bolsonaro attacks Moraes and says he will wait for his lawyer to make further comments. Bolsonaro spoke to the reporter from the “Metrópoles” portal and then posted the interview on his profile on the X social network.

“Minister Alexandre de Moraes conducts the entire investigation, adjusts testimonies, arrests without charges, fishes for evidence and has a very creative advisory. He does everything the law doesn’t say,” said the former president.

  • Ukraine To Lose War if U.S. Cuts Funding: Zelensky - Telesur English

    Article

He acknowledged that the war’s end depends ‘much more’ on what the United States does. On Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky admitted that Ukraine would lose its territorial unity and be defeated by Russia if the United States cuts funding for the war.

“If they cut [funding], I think we will lose,” he said categorically during an interview with Trey Yingst, which aired on Fox’s Special Report, marking over 1,000 days since the war between Russia and Ukraine began.

“Of course, we will stay and fight regardless. We have production capabilities, but it’s not enough to win. And I think it’s not enough to survive. But if that’s the American choice, then we’ll decide what we have to do,” Zelensky clarified.

In the interview, conducted from one of Ukraine’s battlefronts, Zelensky also stressed that it would be “very dangerous” if Ukraine began losing unity internally or with Europe.

“This period, this moment depends, I think, on our unity in Ukraine. And I think what is very dangerous is losing unity within Europe and, more importantly, the unity between Ukraine and the United States,” Zelensky argued, reiterating that diplomacy remains the pathway to ending the war, though he expressed doubts about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s willingness to engage in peace talks.

When asked whether ending the war depends on Putin, Zelensky asserted, “Today, it largely depends on Putin. He can do it. He could be willing to end this war.” However, he added that the war’s end depends “much more” on what the United States does, as it is a country with “strength, power, and weapons, and it can lower the cost of energy resources.”

On Tuesday, the presidents of the European Commission, the European Council, and the European Parliament pledged the European Union’s enduring support for Ukraine.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen acknowledged that the coming winter could be “stormy and terrifying” due to recent Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. To date, the EU has provided Ukraine with nearly US$114 billion in financial, humanitarian, and military aid.

  • Russia Arrests German Over Sabotage Plots in Kaliningrad - Telesur English

    Article

Previously, Nikolai Gaiduk also detonated an explosive device at a gas distribution station pipeline. On Wednesday, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) announced the detention of an individual in the Baltic enclave of Kaliningrad who “arrived from Poland to carry out a new act of sabotage against energy infrastructure.”

The individual, a German citizen of Ukrainian origin, was identified as Nikolai Viktorovich Gaiduk, born in 1967, according to the official statement reported by the TASS news agency. The FSB also accuses Gaiduk of detonating an explosive device at a gas distribution station pipeline in Kaliningrad last March. During his recent trip to Russia, security agents found 0.5 liters of liquid explosive in his vehicle.

The FSB claims that Gaiduk was tasked with carrying out an attack in Kaliningrad by a Ukrainian citizen residing in Germany. A criminal case has been opened against him for terrorism and smuggling explosives, charges that could carry a maximum sentence of 27 years in prison.

During an interrogation, excerpts of which were broadcast on Russian state television, Gaiduk confessed to his involvement in the March 2024 attack. “A man I served with in the military contacted me… He asked if I was willing to do my part to help end the war. This happened in November 2023. I retrieved the bomb from a hiding spot. All I had to do was place it, remove the safety, and that was it,” he said.

In August, German citizen Rico Krieger, who had been sentenced to death in Belarus for fighting in Ukraine, returned to his country as part of the largest prisoner exchange between Russia, Belarus, and Western nations since the end of the Cold War.

  • Presidents Lula and Xi Meet in Brasilia After G20 Summit - Telesur English

    Article

Trade between China and Brazil has grown steadily, reaching a record US$158 billion in 2023. On Wednesday, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping to review the extensive bilateral agenda and discuss the global outlook.

The meeting took place at the Palacio da Alvorada, the official presidential residence in Brasilia, symbolizing a gesture of respect for the Chinese leader, with whom Lula has maintained a close relationship for over a decade.

Lula and Xi examined their bilateral relationship across various dimensions, with a particular focus on trade, which serves as the driving force behind the partnership between the two countries. They also discussed their respective positions on the global stage in anticipation of the incoming administration of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, who will assume office on January 20.

Following a working meeting, the leaders oversaw the signing of approximately 30 agreements, issued a joint statement to the press, and attended a luncheon hosted by Lula for the Chinese delegation at the Palacio da Alvorada.

Since 2009, China has been Brazil’s largest trading partner. Trade between the two countries has grown steadily, reaching a record US$158 billion in 2023, with a surplus of US$51 billion in Brazil’s favor. From January to October, bilateral trade maintained its upward trajectory, totaling US$136 billion.

Beyond trade, bilateral cooperation spans nearly all sectors under a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement in place since 2012. Current negotiations between the two governments aim to include satellite internet in this partnership.

On the global stage, Brazil and China are members of the G20, which held its annual summit on Monday and Tuesday in Rio de Janeiro. They are also founding members of BRICS, an economic cooperation group that includes Russia, India, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Ethiopia.

Bonus: Chinese company SpaceSail, a competitor of Elon Musk’s Starlink, has signed an agreement with the Brazilian government to provide high-speed internet via low-orbit satellites. The aim is to connect remote areas. The project plans to send up 15,000 satellites by 2030.

  • Venezuela Sets ‘Committee for Justice for the Victims of Fascism in July 2024’ - Telesur English

    Article

‘We’ll deliver justice for 28 people killed, 97 injured police and military officers, and 98 injured civilians,’ Saab stressed. On Wednesday, Venezuelan Attorney General Tarek William Saab announced the creation of the “Committee for Justice for the Victims of Fascism in July 2024.”

“The world needs to know the truth,” he said, referring to the violent events triggered by Venezuelan far-right forces following the July 28 presidential elections, in which President Nicolas Maduro was re-elected. “We will deliver justice for 28 people killed, 97 injured police and military officers, 98 injured civilians, and 486 public properties damaged,” Saab emphasized.

These figures correspond to the terrorist acts carried out by paramilitary groups known as “Small Commandos” (Comanditos), which were activated on July 29 and 30 under orders from the losing presidential candidate, Edmundo Gonzalez. “Before Venezuela and the world, we want to clearly and unequivocally expose an event that has been manipulated by major international media outlets, which speak in a biased and partial manner about what happened after July 28, when an extremist faction used the elections as a pretext to escalate violent criminal actions,” the Attorney General stated.

Saab also denounced ongoing media campaigns aimed at convincing the world that all those detained in connection with the post-electoral violence were innocent. At the same time, transnational corporate media have intentionally ignored the deaths and injuries caused by the Small Commandos.

Recently, following investigations conducted in coordination with the judiciary, the Attorney General’s Office requested more lenient precautionary measures for 225 individuals who were in custody.

“We hope that the media will report this news accurately because their release occurred due to the State’s actions. No NGO can claim credit for this, as these organizations are not part of the ongoing criminal process,” Saab said regarding the release of the 225 Venezuelans.

  • Venezuelan Government Demands TikTok Remove Viral Challenges Within 72 Hours Following Child Tragedies - Telesur English

    Article

Should the platform fail to act within the specified timeframe, the president warned that the government would take “the most severe measures” against TikTok.

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, has issued a 72-hour ultimatum to TikTok representatives in Latin America to eliminate dangerous viral challenges that have resulted in the deaths of two children, aged 12 and 14, in the country.

During a broadcast of the program “Con Maduro+”, the president expressed his concern about the negative impact these challenges have on Venezuelan youth. Maduro directly blamed TikTok representatives for the dissemination of content that he claims generates chaos and endangers children’s lives. “These deaths fall on you, because you are the ones allowing this type of content to spread,” he stated.

Should the platform fail to act within the specified timeframe, the president warned that the government would take “the most severe measures” against TikTok.

The head of state also called on parents and guardians to be more vigilant and to prevent their children from participating in these dangerous challenges.

Additionally, he urged teachers and community leaders to intensify their monitoring of children’s online activities. “While you censor what could benefit Venezuela or humanity, you allow these destructive challenges to multiply,” President Maduro condemned.

This situation highlights the growing concern regarding the role of social media in the lives of young people and the potential impact it can have on their safety and well-being.

  • Federal Police have now identified 35 Military personnel including 10 Generals, 16 Colonels and an Admiral as involved in coup plan to assassinate President Lula, Vice President Alckmin and Supreme Court Minister Moraes. Arrests imminent. - Brazilwire

Jair Bolsonaro’s former Aide de Camp, Lt. Col. Mauro Cid, has been summoned to testify to the federal police about the December, 2022 assassination attempt planned by top military allies of Bolsonaro, for Lula, VP Geraldo Alckmin & Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes

After arresting 4 special forces officers, including a former instructor at the School of the Americas, and a Federal Police agent for the assassination attempt yesterday, police now say they have enough evidence to arrest 35 Military personnel. According to the Fed. Police, many of the assassination planning meetings took place in the mansion of Bolsonaro’s former Minister of Defense and 2022 VP running mate, General Walter Braga Neto

According to investigators, and armed army special forces soldier was stationed 3 blocks from Supreme Court Minister Alexandre de Moraes’ home on the planned night of the assassination, which was only called off due to a change of schedule in the Supreme Court. Keep this in mind when you think about Greenwald spending the last 2 years pushing the Bolsonaro family’s “authoritarian” narrative against Justice Moraes, who is in charge of the Supreme Court’s investigation into the architects of the failed coup attempt.

Back to Mauro Cid ®, he’s been called in for interrogation today because during a plea bargain deal, he testified that close allies of Bolsonaro had planned to kidnap Lula, Alckmin and Moraes. Leaving out the assassination part violates the terms of his plea bargain. Brazil’s Federal Police announce that Jair Bolsonaro knew about the assassination plot against President Lula, Vice President Geraldo Alckmin and Supreme Court Minister Alexandre de Moraes.

list of those indicted by the federal police for violent abolition of the democratic rule of law, criminal organization and coup d'état:

    • Almir Garnier Santos (reserve admiral and former commander of the Navy, very pro-coup, most radical)

    • Anderson Torres (former Minister of Justice of Bolsonaro’s goverment and later of the Federal District of Brasilia, Capital of Brazil, was hiding in the US)

    • Anderson Lima de Moura (an army colonel and one of the authors of the coup document “Letter to the Commander of the Army from Senior Officers of the Active and Brazilian Army”)

    • Angelo Martins Denicoli (a major in the army reserve who held a management position in the Ministry of Health under Eduardo Pazuello’s administration, the same administration that led to many people dying of Covid)

    • Augusto Heleno Ribeiro Pereira (former Minister of the Institutional Security Cabinet (Brazil’s secret service) and Army Reserve General, known for his war crimes in Haiti)

    • Bernardo Romão Correa Netto (a colonel accused of being part of a group responsible for inciting the military to adhere to a strategy of military intervention to prevent Lula’s inauguration.)

    • Carlos Cesar Moretzsohn Rocha (an engineer hired by the PL (Liberal Party, Bolsonaro’s Party) to question the vulnerability of electronic ballot boxes during the 2022 elections.)

    • Carlos Giovani Delevati Pasini (an army colonel suspected of having participated in the drafting of the “Letter to the Army Commander from Senior Officers of the Active and Brazilian Army”.)

    • Fernando Cerimedo (Argentine businessman who made a live broadcast questioning the security of the electronic ballot boxes during the 2022 elections)

I think this dude is a Milei supporter now?

    • Giancarlo Gomes Rodrigues (an army lieutenant and one of those responsible for the clandestine monitoring of political opponents)

    • Guilherme Marques de Almeida (lieutenant colonel and former commander of the 1st Psychological Operations Battalion in Goiânia who fainted when the knocked on his door)

    Ironic, lol

    • Hélio Ferreira Lima (a lieutenant colonel in the army identified in message exchanges with Bolsonaro’s former aide Mauro Barbosa Cid)

    • Jair Bolsonaro (former president of the Republic, former deputy, former councilman of Rio de Janeiro and captain of the Army Reserve)

    • José Eduardo de Oliveira e Silva (priest of the Osasco diocese)

Imagine being this fucking stupid lol

    • Laercio Vergililo (a reserve general involved in an alleged coup plot)

    • Marcelo Bormevet (federal police officer suspected of being part of the illegal espionage scheme known as “parallel Abin (Brazil’s CIA, Bolsonaro attempted to create his own CIA to spy on the Deferal Police)”)

    • Rafael Martins de Oliveira (lieutenant colonel and member of the ‘black kids’ group)

    • Ronald Ferreira de Araujo Junior (Army lieutenant colonel)

    • Sergio Ricardo Cavaliere de Medeiros (lieutenant colonel who was part of the “nucleus of disinformation and attacks on the electoral system”)

    • Tércio Arnaud Tomaz (former advisor to Bolsonaro and considered one of the pillars of the so-called “hate cabinet”)

    • Valdemar Costa Neto (president of PL (Liberal Party), the party for which Jair Bolsonaro and Braga Netto contested the 2022 elections)

    • Walter Souza Braga Netto (former Minister of Defense and candidate for Bolsonaro’s vice-president in 2022, army reserve general)

It seems like this "Letter to the Army Commander from Senior Officers of the Active and Brazilian Army” is the coup draft they would have read after they took over the goverment.

  • Bad, they really don’t know what to say. Bolsonaro’s sons (who are politicians, Bolsonaro can’t give interviews bc Alexandre de Moraes banned him from giving interviews or talking with dome politicians) said that it isn’t a crime to plot a crime or murder.

Others said it’s actually a smokescreen bc Lula’s wife (nickname Janja) said “Fuck you Elon Musk, we are not afraid of you” during the G20 meeting, and that is, in their minds, a huge crime against the USA (they love and worship that country).

They are also still trying to “debate” against the Supreme Court, with “Asktually this is not right”. But that doesn’t work bc they are saying the Supreme Court is doing domething illegal. But it is the Supreme Court who decides if something is legal or illegal.

The military is quiet, they burned all good will they had with the left (little) and liberals. The right hates them bc they seen the military as cowards. They even accepted to lose done privileges granted to them and to budget cuts because they no longer can pressure the goverment.

Some libs journalists are saying that Bolsonaro probably killed his former friend and party leader Gustav Bebiano, but idk much about this or if it’s true. Seems like this guy gave a interview saying he had information that Bolsonaro was plotting a coup and the next week he was dead.

  • Plans for a coup d’état that included assassinating Lula and Alckmin also included censoring the press, silencing journalists both in the states and at the federal level. A coup “crisis cabinet” would be set up to monitor the actions of media outlets.

The Federal Police decided today to indict 37 people for attempted coup d’état and criminal organization. Among those indicted are Bolsonaro, Braga Netto (General, Murderer, VP candidate of Bolsonaro in 2022) and Augusto Heleno (The guy who led the massacres in Haiti), Paulo Figueiro FIlho (Grandson of the last Dictator of Brazil, Right-Wing Grifter, lives in the US), Filipe Martins (Neonazi, White Supremacist, Bolsonaro’s Aide). Officially 37 people have been indicted in the investigation into the attempted coup d’état. They are accused of:

    • Coup d’état: 4 to 12 years in prison;
    • Violent abolition of the democratic rule of law: 4 to 8 years in prison;
    • Being part of a criminal organization: 3 to 8 years in prison
