  • How would you define socialism?

Transitionary stage towards communism. During this stage the makings of capitalism will by necessity persist for some time. More recent theoreticians further devided this stage into further substages.

Your comparsion of the USSR and Jugoslawia with the PRC has one glaring problem: They are not around anymore, the PRC is. Something broke their backs, the PRC being still around means that the presence of some billionaires(which China slowly taxes out of existence actually, something learned from the Mongolian PR) or their absence wasn’t it.

Turns out one should analyse material reality and keep idealism such as morals out of it. It is not important if there are some billionaires or not, it is important if they hold state power or not. In the PRC, they clearly do not. Thus insisting on bringing up that point of billionaires all the time is hitting a dead horse.

Insisting on injecting moralism into marxism is fundamentally revisionist. Marxism is a materialist philosophy, thus the injection of moralism is a revision of the fundamentals of it (can’t get any more fundamental), which is considered revisionism among communists. So no, I am not a revisionist.

That comes down to romantic languages being more widespread. English is a edge case. It actually is a germanic language like german, but was influenced so much by french that it has more romantic loanwords than germanic ones. Furthermore, it got so simplified during its colonial era that most of what makes germanic languages precise (but a removed to learn) got thrown out.

Meanwhile german got lots of latin influences, with plenty of loanwords from neighbouring languages, but the structure of sentences barely changed over time.

  • Sadly it is not as impossible as it seems. Panama channel, Greenland to seal the arctic route and the strait of Malacca. Some military on these points effectively seals the pacific. Going around these points is prohibitively expensive.

The US is reining in Panama, wants to pute more troops in Greenland and is heavily pushing for regime change in Myanmar and Thailand…

Leaves the land routes: Pakistan is instable and a US removed, Afghanistan still not peaceful, Syria regime changed, Iran very much in the crosshairs of US hawks, The border area between Russia and Ukraine is in flames already, regime change operations in Georgia, Azerbaijan openly supported by the west, Isn’treal being Isn’treal.

    Also not rosy.
