crazy thing is… that is the exact reason why trump is winning in the States. Someone comes along, crass, rude, claiming to be a layman and the people here ate that up, thinking “now here is a person like us, not like the established politician class” and despite the rhetoric, or due to it, along with suppression and disinformation, he got elected.

My question is not a logical one, but an emotional/moral one, like what I am asking now about us…

Within 11 years, depending on how you want to define it 6 (unique companies), 8 (work experiences), or 10 (including promotions with clear shifts in responsibilities). Very happy where I am now, took me a while to find a place where, I feel like I matter (both internally and externally,) compensates me fairly, and has a good work/life balance. I still have felt the strain of burnout, but this place actually has real ladders to climb, not just a step stool, and I am climbing it, plus I get to truly help people, some of whom are in a panic or in medical distress.

Yeah a lot of bad faith arguing against me. They think it is okay to bash on reasonable beliefs/actions as long as they are committed by someone who has other, more extreme, beliefs. But it’s not okay, attack the bad views, not the good ones. This lemmy instance is definitely filled with a lot of these weird types.

I get it, but y’all are being weird. Why not focus your criticisms on their primary values instead of valid beliefs/displays of compassion and empathy like this. Your values and communication style is just as tribal and incendiary. Your faux armchair machismo comes off just as pathetically as theirs does.
