Theoretically deleting the account will scrub at least my comments, and I’m hoping if it takes them long enough any backups will be overwritten. It’s not like I was advocating for violent action or anything, but I do work in a sensitive position and I don’t need something I said in my free time and thought to cause me problems.
I bailed on reddit and killed my account because I fear that 45*/47’s thought police would be able to correlate my post history with my identity. My login here isn’t even tied to an email. I intend to make the challenge of backtracking me a lively one.
But my Internet points!
I get that the FBI has done a lot of fucked up things but Jackson is a poorly run shit hole and a mayor, whatever their qualifications, who accepts bribes from power is a symptom of that problem.
And Jackson is so deeply mismanaged that the feds had to take over their water system a couple years back because they were failing to deliver safe water to the residents, and in a state capitol no less. The issues were lack of maintenance and inefficient spending. I think the feds are figuring out that the rot is coming from the top.
You think developers aren’t offering bribes? This is sound police work.
Suddenly a lot of my life makes sense.
I used to be. Now I’ve learned to exploit hyperfocus and people leave me alone about my quirks because I can put in earbuds and bend time.
When I need to engage hyperfocus I hang a sign on my chair that says “Headphones in, unless the building is on fire please make this conversation an email.” And then input in headphones and listen to music too loud. That really helps me stay engaged with work for a while.
When will we have privacy protection? Or yeah, never.
