  • But that is in an amendment so it only has to be followed 3/5ths of the way.

I’m actually really surprised we didn’t have a new lawsuit about his ability to take the oath of office. Not that it will actually matter but these Trump sycophants should have to state publication they don’t care what the law says.

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

  • The preferred Plan A is probably to bully and pressure at least 50 of the likely 53 GOP senators into supporting his nominations, to establish dominance over Congress and castrate its role as a check on presidential power while making the notion of “advise and consent” an 18th-century anachronism.

How many people rotated through his cabinet the first term? How many staffers walked away?

This is a loyalty test. A hazing. Get on board and confirm the worst possible choices or be relegated to the trash heap with Cheney and Kinzinger.

Trump’s ego requires that these fools be confirmed but I doubt half of them make it to the midterms.

  • Do not work more than what is advantageous to you. This is your own limit and can change throughout your career. There will be times when working extra hours may get you to the next level, this is a path you can pursue or walk away from.

When I was just starting off in my career, my mentor told me about Scott as a cautionary tale. Scott was a hard working, and dedicated employee. He started with the company on a factory floor. He was known for always working overtime when it was available, and the first person to call if you needed someone to cover a shift.

The company was investing heavily in IT and people it determined were intelligent enough and dedicated enough to do the job. Scott was brought into a training program, sent to some classes, and pulled from the factory floor to an office job.

Scott maintained his work ethic, even though he was salaried he found value in working extra. He felt he was noticed and that his efforts were appreciated. He was also able to pick up new skills and knowledge much faster than his coworkers because he worked more hours.

Scott never married. He tried dating a few times, but the women he dated didn’t like being second to his career. Scott lived modestly and talked to his parents a few times a month.

Scott was the first one to arrive and the last to leave. The joke around the office was that he had a bed under his desk. He eventually got into gaming, late nights playing started to drag on him. But he was always at his desk before anyone else. Occasionally someone would catch him sleeping at his desk.

One day the police came looking for him. His parents hadn’t been able to reach him. When someone went to his desk, he was asleep, but they couldn’t wake him.

The coroner estimated he had been dead for 3 days. In that chair for 3 days. Coworkers walking by, saying good morning, jokes about not working too late. He had nothing really but that job.

  • And if you look like you could be from the Middle East, so if you are Spanish, Italian, from the Balkans, Latin America or any other place where people aren’t pale as fuck, prepare to be insulted, threatened and sometimes violently attacked in the streets.

When I was 18, over 20 years ago, I spent 3 weeks in Southern Germany. As a white American it was the first time I experienced racism, though mild. I will never forget the look the family I was staying with gave me when I told them my last name was Italian. When the mother asked me, she was hopeful my last name was Spanish and visibly disappointed when I said Italian.

  • The issue with carbon emissions from burning fuel is that they increase the carbon in the atmosphere because their origin is from sources trapped underground. Similar to a water cycle there is a carbon cycle. The carbon we exhale is produced from biological processes, not from combusting carbon which was previously trapped.

Edit to say, don’t be like me. Read the source material before you react. Or at the very least read the comment to my post.

  • Start looking for tripped GFCI outlets.

If there is no power to the switch and the breaker didn’t trip there is likely a switch with GFCI on the mix.

Another possibility could be a bad breaker (assuming you don’t have actual fuses), check this by flipping the breaker off and back on. This could also help to identify other lights/outlets on the circuit. If there is a wiring problem, knowing what other devices are on the circuit could help you track the problem.

While not impossible, it is unlikely that a wire has been severed. It is possible that a wire came loose at another outlet or fixture in the circuit.

If there was a true short, the breaker would be tripped out fuse blown and it would continue to trip.

Problem exists between breaker and wall switch.

  • I vaped for quite a while. Got a bit addicted to the tinkering and the juice hunting. It can be a fun hobby which probably makes it a bad way to quit if you’re anything like me.

I worked myself down on the nicotine levels until I was at zero.

Relapsed back to cigarettes after not having vaped for a few months due to stress.

Finally stopped cold turkey. Didn’t go back to vaping just decided it was time.

    Things that ultimately helped:

    • Having a reason to quit that I could remind myself of daily as an affirmation.
    • My partner was also quitting, I needed her to stop and needed to be there to support her efforts.

If I was going to do it again, I’d probably look into Fum or something similar. Probably add some nicotine gum at the start to ease the chemical addiction.
