Infuriating.
US borrowers can’t get their loans forgiven, but Biden’s going to be Ukraine’s personal Santa Claus for the next month and half, even though we’ve already allocated hundreds of billions to their war.

Those warrants aren’t worth the paper they’re printed on, but it’s still nice to see official bodies outside the US calling Netanyahu what he is.
There are no good billionaires.
UGGGGHHHH, please let it not happen.
It’s so weird to see an MTG post and… yeah… I’m over here like: LFG.
Thank you for the discussion.
It’s fascinating to watch you and others engage with people who you know disagree with you in this way, especially after two weeks ago.
Oh yeah, how are the people in those two countries doing now?
I could not care less. I’m more concerned with how people are doing here in the US.
Yeah, it was pretty much guaranteed after the pull out from the nuclear deal…almost like elections have consequences.
I’m sure feeding WMD’s to the Israelis for use against Iran won’t be problematic for that.
Lol, it’s a two party system. If you voted green you still lent your support to supporting a genocide
False. The Greens are the only party expressly opposed to helping Israel murder people at will, but you can create whatever justification you like for the support you lend to it.
No, I’m referring to getting us out of Afghanistan and Syria specifically.
But you’ve noted, surely, that the US does largely support war with Iran by funneling WMD’s to Israel, right? Unless you voted Green, you explicitly lent your support to it via your ballot.
Lol, my dude… You do remember he also ended the nuclear agreement with Iran and then assassinated their most idolized military commander?
I recall, yes.
It feels very odd to watch an American president do correct things for the wrong reasons. It’s much more familiar to watch people like Bush, Obama, and Biden doing the wrong things for reasons that aren’t provided to the public, because the narratives given around US wars are nearly always false.
Not much to show for five years of GM work, unless you count planting a time bomb on the roster in the form of Aaron Rodgers.
LOL, that was my first thought as well.
This fact is why I’m unwilling to give Biden credit for the half-measures and posturing on this issue. Yes he forgave some student debt, and that’s definitely better than nothing, but he had Congress for two years and could have done more.
He’s unilaterally forgiven student debt via Executive Order several times, but couldn’t find the balls to forgive all of it. That makes sense, as his presidency and every presidency since Reagan has been propped up by the monied interests profiting vastly off permanently indebting young people.
I think he’s delivering on his promises to the MIC to maximize the money they invested in him before Trump enters office. If he gets us wrapped up in a conflict that requires deployment of US troops, so much the better for the stockholders depending on the Federal Government to get us as involved as possible.
Trump, while he did it for the wrong reasons, did pull the US military out of foreign wars during his first term. I imagine Raytheon and Boeing and Lockheed definitely do not want that.
Solid points all around.
Further, even if it would be largely ineffectual (which it won’t), we should make it inconvenient for billionaires to dodge taxes, just as some states make it inconvenient to obtain guns.
I’m getting stuffed animal versions made of my pets before they pass so I have something to snuggle when I reminisce about them one day.
lol, and just whom do you think that was?
99% of voters.
Y’all clearly do not care about the quality of people you elect, judging by the effects of their governance. The world can burn and people can starve so long as the person in charge wears blue and says nice things.
No, the Democrats didn’t do enough
LOL
That’s almost as bad as… “Dems aren’t perfect, but.”
Christ, I wish the Democratic Party had a shred of empathy left for workers. The minimum wage has been $7.25 for almost 20 years now, across two Democratic presidents who had control of Congress, and both made $100 billion-plus dollars appear out of thin air for war profiteers. The system gives these men all the power they need to make meaningful change, they just don’t give a fuck about anyone who can’t afford the $500,000 minimum it costs to buy a five-minute meeting at the Democratic National Convention.
Republicans stab us in the front. Democrats stab us in the back.
Telling people that they are is lying to their face
Democrats convinced 10,000,000 people that voting didn’t matter by doing nothing about their economic suffering apart from spending three months of campaign time telling them to just be joyful about it. Of course those people chose a badly needed day’s pay instead.
They told another chunk of people, who’ve watched their family, friends, and neighbors get bombed at will by Israel that they supported it by sending Israel more WMD’s mid-genocide.
The liars are the people we elected to represent us who did an abominably shitty job. It’s that simple. Will Republicans be better? Probably not, judging by their history, but for some reason no failure is failure enough to get people to change how they vote anymore. They just stop voting completely.
People don’t want Nazism, Fascism, or genocide.
They just don’t want these neoliberal Democrats.
Admittedly, I don’t know enough about monopolies and antitrust laws to know how much this matters. Can someone ELI5 this and give us more info?
