It’s interesting that the Project 2025 text spells out diversity, equity and inclusion, while the executive order just says DEI.
I 100 percent thing folks need to push back on the blanket use of ‘DEI’ because they’re trying to make it mean the same as ‘woke.’
I’m sure there’s a number of mouthbreathers out there who’ll say they’re against DEI, but if you ask “you mean diversity, equity and inclusion?” they’ll back pedal.
Mercedes also includes a number of items as a subscription in some countries. Some stuff is app related. Others are things like getting full use of your rear-steering wheels and unlocking extra horsepower.
So the blue states don’t have a National Guard to respond?

When your reasons for dismissal is being a black woman, you have a pretty good case.

Generally that power is financial. The government can’t directly tell private institutions like NYU what to do.
But they can, and do, take away or withhold government funds for grants and research.
Buuuut … all that is held up right now. And if Trump has his way, that’s all gone regardless.
So I’m guessing this is a classic case of making decisions by the university based on old thinking.

Really just 9-5 offices, schools, and places they support. And that’s a benefit because the corporate folks will be able to join as well. People will be able to bring the kids. College students won’t miss class.
Basically you’re taking away the “oh I have to work” excuse from folks who want to get involved. And if folks like that start to join, this thing is going to get big.
Getting fired because you’re a woman, with reasoning that seems to boil down to “we don’t think a woman can do this job,” sounds like a pretty good case for a wrongful, discriminatory firing suit.
This is the way these things work though. This will get attention. The next one will be even bigger.

I think people are reading too much into this. They’re changing it to ‘Choose Love,’ as an obvious shot at the orange-haired man who’s never gotten a hug.
You really have to wonder what Putin and Russia’s role in all of this has been.
Because it feels like us straining our relationships with Canada, the EU / NATO, and pushing BRICS countries further away, benefits them more than anybody else.
And certainly our economic might being sabotaged from within would benefit them and China on the world stage.
Especially when you consider the whole Mexico and Canada tariff saga was mostly just staged chaos that probably was never intended to do anything other than erode our reputation in the international community.
Wikler drew the public backing of former Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other big names like Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.
To me that’s concerning, because everything that has happened the last 20 years to empower the GOP had come at l on the watch of those two.
And I’m not sure either is willing to shake things up enough to truly bring about change.

Trump wild should also read up about Black September and the Lebanese Civil War.
And lets also not forget he repeatedly claimed he knew nothing about Project 2025. Not the policies. Not the people behind it.
Now he’s claiming a mandate to execute the plan he denied having any knowledge of.
Late this fall, after all of the nonsense on Reddit, Facebook, and Instagram I asked myself a very simple question.
“Is the reason I joined these sites still valid? What do I actually enjoy about social media these days?”
The answer was basically “rose colored glasses.”
I joined **Reddit **after the ‘deaths’ of Slashdot and Digg. It became my source to get new and interesting content I probably wouldn’t have found otherwise. Now it’s bots arguing with bots and 75+% of the content is just recycled shit by people trying to make money. Much of the rest is from people trying to manipulate you.
Delete.
I joined Facebook to keep in touch with my friends and family - especially those I don’t see often. Over time, the amount of good content from people I knew dropped to maybe 25% of my feed. Most of it now is AI-generated bullshit or more of the same recycled content you see on Reddit.
Delete.
I joined Instagram to share some of my landscape photos and view some of the great photos some close friends were sharing. Over time that became less and less. Queue the recycled and AI-bullshit content.
Delete.
So, I challenge everybody to ask themselves do they actually enjoy social media? Do these sites actually add value to your life and in any way remain true to their promise when you joined them so many moons ago. Are you actually making any connections with people? The ‘social’ in ‘social’ media? Or just watching people talk at each other, not to each other.
After answering those questions, the answer about whether to stick around is pretty clear.
