I’m thinking about games like Summer Time Saga and Once in a Lifetime, Being a DIK, Ripples, and What a Legend. All of these are games I would highly recommend by the way.

They don’t need to be all comedy. I like when games don’t take themselves too seriously and to laugh while I play.

I was expecting “like Leisure Suit Larry” and then was surprised to not see it in there. That is the quintessential entry in that genre.

Does the comedy hold up? It did start with the Amiga’ish generation so I don’t know if people were just buying in because of the promise of pixelated titties with the comedy as an after thought.

Or are you referring to later titles? I don’t know what the consensus is in Leisure Suit Larry community

Eternum is the new game being developed by the guy who created Once in a Lifetime - similar humor and top-notch graphics for the genre. And a pretty good story so far.

It’s been a while, but I played trough Once in a Lifetime based on the recommendations here and recently started Eternum. Excellent stuff. I really liked the first game, but the quality jump to Eternum is huge. I’m hoping they will eventually make a bit more dating sim type game too. The writing and characters are great, but the harem part doesn’t 100% work for me. I would love to see something where you would need to focus on one girl for a playthrough, maybe with some side hustle options.

Future fragments recently came out. It’s got funny moments, plays almost like a Metroidvania. I’d recommend.

Subverse is pretty funny, at least for me the writing is easily the best part of the game, but it’s purposely over the top pretty often.

Old thread, but considering how quiet this community is, I don’t think anyone will mind too much.

I really enjoyed Projekt: Passion, most dialogue choices have kind, humorous, and rude options to pick from, so the overall story ends up pretty on rails choices wise, but the writing is solid and genuinely funny at times, plus I find being able to make clearly wrong choices that end up getting you killed in increasingly ridiculous ways (after which the game returns to said choice so you can not die and continue the story) hilarious in an “I didn’t totally expect that/ how could things have gone so horribly wrong so quickly” kind of way. It’s got way more heart than I would have expected from a sci-fi harem game.
