Does not have to be a good mmo. Reasoning can be anything. If you read my last post you know I’m a huge fan of dungeons and dragons online, which may not be most people’s ides of a quality mmo.

Feel free to mention old games that aren’t around anymore, upcoming mmorpgs, or anything else you want to talk about really. I’m doing these mostly for my own entertainment, and hope you will feel free to do the same. Please use the games full name at least once, as acronyms can be confusing for myself and people like me.

Bonus points if you tell me about the worst mmorpg you actually like and play.

Look I know I’m not the only one who feels this way but this is still my truth: EverQuest. Old EverQuest. I’m not gonna compare mechanics, visual quality, UI friendliness, customizability, etc because there are others that do it all better. EQ was brutal, it had a steep learning curve, it took forever to level, to quest, to raid, etc. But my goodness, the sense of accomplishment when you got REALLY skilled at your class, the vibe of having a good group going, the feel I got camping out next to the fire place near the gate in West Freeport, knowing that I was leaving the game but the world was still sitting there running without me, even the experience of recovering from a full team wipe… I know some of it is the nostalgia of the time I was playing it when I could spend all day every day leveling up (yes I’m in P99 now and I LOVE it), but nothing has come close.

Everquest seems to be gaining popularity against all odds. I have had this hame reccomended to me more passionately than any other game. I will, eventually, take the pluge and give it a go.
