Oooh this is so cool!
I started translating finnish language right away!
EDIT: 79 translations, 34 suggestions, 34 pending suggestions and 33 comments feels like heavy-duty for one session straight!
How can I change the language setting?
There’s a dropdown at the bottom of the page and you can change the language of the UI there.
For posts/comments, use the dropdown next to the add button to select what language you’re writing it in.
Choose your native language first, then the language you want (in this case English)
How to contribute to translations? I could help out for Romanian if needed.
You need a Codeberg account and can then translate right on https://translate.codeberg.org/projects/kbin/kbin/.
However, Romanian hasn’t yet been added as a language to translate, too, and the “Start new translation” button is disabled. Maybe @ernest first needs to either add that language manually or can enable that button for everyone.
Hey, thanks for the link. I’ll start helping with the spanish translation
I just noticed a popup to translate a German Lemmy post on the mobile pwa, it worked amazing! Now I need to unblock all those German instances…
Can locales of languages with alternate spellings be added? (i.e. English - United States, English - United Kingdom, etc.)
Contributed 50 translations to Japanese yesterday :) I’ll continue contributing how I can
when will you start rolling out newly translated versions?
Hey, next week. There is still the matter of changing one js library, and we need to determine the minimum percentage of progress at which translations should be released.
Hello. That’s good news. Although yes, while some entries of terms like award vs badges are left undecided, which are pretty hard to differentiate from another for my language. I will finish one of them to 100% in the next couple of days. Probably with some temporary solutions. kbin is still changing afterall. Thanks for the reply.
I am just commenting because I’d love to cooperate on a Czech translation of the project.
Hello, there is a Czech translation in process! I believe you should be able to contribute at that link :)
