SO true! And I would say perhaps a feature where you can be notified or an indicator when a person has read your message from the notifications center.

Under display camera and face id. No notch, no dynamic island, nothing. Those are just in the way. If someone wants the dynamic island features it could be implemented fully in the software.

HARDWARE:

1. better placement of the action button, I keep hitting it when I want to change the volume

2. I didn’t hate Face ID as much as I thought I would, but have an in scream finger print reader would be nice too

3. this one is def a big issue for a small amount of people but going caseless on iPhones sucks since the cameras are in one corner. If they were spread out horizontally the phone wouldn’t wobble

4. small notch. With the addition of the Dynamic Island, this is the first time I haven’t said “no notch”. Eventually I’d like no notch, but if they could put everything under the screen except the camera that would be nice.

SOFTWARE

1. independent app volume control. The way apple currently has the volume slider (when you swipe down and can hold the volume slider to make it pop out) is such a great way to add independent app volume control.

2. custom widget sizes and app placement.

3. ability to turn off password requirement to unlock phone in certain locations or focus modes.

4. this one is small but it’s so annoying. Double tap on the screen when in the camera app to swap front and back camera

5. more options in shortcuts. I could make an entire post about this so I’ll leave it at that

8. better notification system. Oh my god apple’s notifications are horrible. I’d always get upset how my family never responded to texts but I get it now (they wouldn’t respond anyways but it’s a bit easier to understand lol)

I would love for the Pro lineup to include a desktop experience if you plugged your phone into a docking station. Nostalgia hit me hard on another thread talking about Windows Continuum on my Windows Phone years ago, and Apple already has the tech there with iPads.

Most stuff on this thread so far is OS related.

I think the iPhone has hit a crucial point where they either will need to reinvent the wheel, or eventually die out/be replaced by someone who does.

Some next level tech I’d like to see in iPhones: Better AI capability, the phone should learn how I use it and adapt to better the experience

Dramatically decreases in charging time, minutes to fully charge

Increased safety functionality

Smaller, thinner, faster. No more need to big gaming rigs. Your phone is as good as a gaming pc and can wirelessly project to any screen.

Lastly, Apple needs to come up with things we can’t even think about. That’s what we pay them for after all.
