I’m a big fan of Safari and how seamlessly it works with all my Apple devices, but these ads are pushing me to the edge. I can’t even get through an article without being interrupted by some ad or another. It’s super annoying.
I’ve looked up older threads on this, and I’m choosing between two adblockers rn - Stop the Madness and Magic Lasso. They both seem like they could be a solution, but I’m not sure which one to go for. Anything that stands out?
Are there other options I’m missing?
I’d really appreciate any advice or insights you guys can offer.
AdGuard Adblocker is absolutely fantastic I paid for lifetime license years ago and it has never once let me down
Wipr works really well ,one time purchase, install and forget
Wipr for iPhone/iPad and Adguard for Mac
Wipr also works in Safari on the Mac btw.
I use Adblock pro. For me it blocks all ads I visited.
adguard: when playing yt in ios safari, every few vids the video does not start - and i have to refresh the page then it works.
anyone else?
I have made Brave the default browser on my phone and it integrates pretty darned well with other stuff
I use asgard public dns
It works great and is free and works in apps except YT
Reader mode. The end.
I use the brave browser on my phone and ipad
Don’t use an app. Use a pi-hole. Block the entire house with granular control over what gets through and doesn’t!
I just use brave lol… rarely touch safari and I definitely ain’t gonna use chrome
I have used AdBlock Pro for 14 months now and haven’t seen a single add anywhere, YouTube or otherwise. Though I must mention that on occasion YouTube adds have been able to bypass it lately, no video ads ever play.
The same ad blocker is on iPhone, iPad and Mac
I’ve had very good results using 1Blocker. I paid for the lifetime version.
Adguard free + dns configuaration from adguard ( it blocks ads in most apps) or just Adguard Pro
If you want something sophisticated and like to tinker, set up a Wireguard VPN and an adblocking DNS server on your home router. Funnel all your iPhone traffic over your home-rolled VPN with the flip of a switch (VPN on/off in iPhone settings), and let your router serve you ad-free traffic via DNS filtering. This has the benefit of stopping ads in most apps, not just Safari. Combine this with a Safari-specific add-on for an extra layer of protection.
