I prefer that money be used for housing. People are mad the games are cancelled but how much angrier would people be if he wasted 6-7 billion for 12 days of athletics.

Today I am 32. I am properly in my 30’s now and still have no idea what I’m doing with my life!!! But it’s okay because I’m eating cake for breakfast.

OH! OH I know this one! You’re going to physio a LOT more and actually paying attention when they give you exercises instead of your 20s where you just stuck the paper to the fridge and didnt do anything with them.

      Happy Birthday.

I just wish I had taken up yoga a lot sooner - at least now when I throw my back out the recovery isn’t nearly as long as it was when I was in my 20s and barely able to get off the ground because I never lifted with my legs.

My back injuries in my 20s and early 30s were much worse than current ones. Wish someone taught me about core strength when I was younger.

Yeah I was in an accident as a kid I never totally recovered from. Like not horrific or anything, but just seemed to set things in motion. That and I’m an IT guy/gamer. A lot of sitting down.

Oh you think you know hangovers from your drunken 20’s? You’re a toddler on a trike saying you’ve been in a motorbike accident

There’s something about this age where I think it’s perfectly normal to think that…saying from experience. I’m six years removed from this very birthdate and still have no idea what I’m doing with my life but the current is taking me where it wants and I’m slowly but surely getting comfortable with that idea. I might snag a branch or two along the way and see if I can steer the course but it’s all flowing downwards anyway. Happy birthday, though. And I hope you enjoyed that cake!

Oh no. The Bad Feels (blood rushing to face, starting to feel congested like you’re about to cry) started to happen and I’ve been left hanging after a conversation. Burying my face in the cat isn’t helping. What do. I’d eat a pizza if I had any appetite. Maybe I’ll shut off the world and get into a good book like I keep threatening to. My eyes are getting too tired for TV…

Lizzo was amazing again ❤️ I struggled with the fact that a lot of the people in my section just did not stand up! It’s Lizzo, it’s dance music, you gotta stand, dance, and enjoy…so I did. Lol. I did sit more for this one then Mondays concert though. Is this standard for concerts? Because for both Lorde and Harry, we stood the entire time.

I think it depends from artist to artist. If I had to generalise - the older the crowd, the more likely people in the seats are going to sit for the entire concert. Lorde and Harry would attract a younger crowd, Lizzo an older crowd. I don’t understand how people can sit through a pop/dance/rock/upbeat music concert and so I’ll typically get GA tickets.

True, it could definitely be that, noticed a lot of parents with children, both young children and adult children that perhaps would prefer to sit. Thankfully the stands are tiered so no one other than the people beside me are standing at my level behind me (and I’m shortish) so I don’t think I obstructed too many peoples views or at least I hope not.

Sometimes ppl purchase seated tickets cos they can’t stand for a period of time (disability/ fatigue/ chronic health issues/ sore feets from working all day…). If you wanna do more than dance/ enjoy while seated, select GA tix?

That is true, I hadn’t considered that side of things. I would’ve got GA but they sold out before I could. And I chose still have a seat because whilst I wanted to stand and dance during the concert, I didn’t love the idea of being sandwiched between a bunch of people as I overheat easily and struggle to regulate my temperature. It was just interesting observing the differences in even just the seated areas of crowds. Some sections were all standing and others weren’t.

It has been a rather lovely day today. Six hours work this morning, plus a bit of online shopping for some new shoes. This afternoon I was actually able to get outside in the sunshine and do some planting and weeding. Mr Woof got three walks, so he’s pretty happy, and Miss Meow is currently enjoying some lap time (purring like a little engine). Pork rissoles and tray baked vegetable are on the menu for dinner. Plus I don’t have to work tomorrow so don’t need to get up at any particular time in the morning. I am judging today a success. 🙂

I changed my phone wallpaper, font and icon style last night and it feels like I got a new phone! That scratches that little itch I had. The hardware of my phone is still excellent so there’s no need to get a new one.

Yeah I’m full Edge these days. Works well having the same browser ecosystem across all of my PCs and phone. I even have my default search engine set to Bing as a trial (to take full advantage of the Bing Chat AI feature) but that might be going back to Google soon. Bing isn’t quite there yet, even though I do like the Bing Chat AI.

I use Edge at work cause SharePoint works better than other browsers. Still can’t go past Firefox as my main one.

Bing is fine, but Bing maps ain’t it. I use the Chat AI at work to draft emails. No one has picked up on it yet.

Bing is not fine. I use Edge for work, but the amount of times I search something forgetting it’ll use bing, try and fail to find the result on the first page and have to switch to google is nuts. The ads are so much more in your face too!

Bit over ordering Didi or Uber 20 minutes before work and they rock up so I’m late to work. So I’m finally contacting a driving instructor who is good for folks with adhd/anxiety so I can get my P’s. I guess now I have to save up for a car.

Fuck. One last bit of paperwork from my old workplace and I’m finally free of it. I’m still undecided as to whether I’ll take a bunch of further action against them or not. I have nothing to gain and being vindictive is not in my nature. Justice however is a different matter. I’ll seek some psuedo legal advice from one of my best friends who practised law for a long time, he’s also been a life coach, mentor and father figure and I’ve always taken his advice, as it’s usually so good.

Walked nearly 10ks yesterday. The body is getting used to it slowly. This sprained wrist is only healing very slowly and may be getting worse again. I bought a better support for it but the new job and constant use of my hands outside it means it’s going to be a long haul I think.

Working again today and who knows when for the rest of the week. I’ll manage financially for the time being and with any luck won’t have to touch my savings. Just going to have live frugally for a while, which is fine. I have almost everything I need, so stopping having a disposable income won’t be a big deal. Just have to quit wearing make up and buying expensive skin care products, which is also fine. There’s peer pressure from other trans women a lot I find to “pass” meaning people can’t know you’re trans. It’s bullshit pure and simple as far as I’m concerned. I’m happy that for some people that’s what they want for themselves, but I’ve never bought into gender stereotypes and I’m not about to be bullied into starting buying into them. It’s also really important to be visible at the moment I think as well. I’m not winning friends by being direct about my response to this, but I’m done with trying to be a people pleaser.

Thanks for reading, journalling here is therapy and its good to be regular with it so I can look back over this time down the track and see what I was doing and feeling and such…

    Kthxbyte xo

One aspect of the old workplace situation might bear some consideration. Making a complaint or whatever, is the effect such has on the person that treated you so badly. Not a personal effect, but on the formal record. This makes it more possible for future employees of that person to have some warning of what that person has done before and might do again. So it’s harder for the nasty person to say “I’m not the nasty person, it was them over there”. One could call this an act of charity rather than being vindictive. Legal advice sounds like a good starting point to me.

Pretty soon I’ll have the final paperwork sorted, so I’ll phone the lgbtqia+ legal service for advice as well. The nightclub industry is rife with illegal behaviour. The culture of sexual harassment is gross and I brought it up with them many times and their failure to do anything emboldened a staff member to harass and sexually assault me. It wasn’t a particularly bad assault but I’ll also likely report that to police as it was the crux of all the issues and thier reluctance to take it seriously was a terrible lack of due process. While that didn’t happen at work, it happened immediately after in my car, when I was giving them a fucking lift home. Also most the bullshit happened after I came out as trans.

I think this is a very important turning point in Australian politics. For the first time ever the good of the common people have been prioritised over business.

None of this crap about job creation we would get from the LNP. The facts are plain, games are a cost and the losers are the people.

And we can’t justify it as being a PR exercise in the Cold War, we aren’t in the Cold War anymore, it’s turned into a hot war that we backing .

Great call, and it’s annoying the media outlets are by-and-large trying to make it an even bigger deal than I feel it needs to be. I understand that a few sports stars are put out, and regionally speaking it hurts some areas in some respects - but we could be fucking celebrating the fact that a fiscally responsible decision was made, and one that should still provide benefits that are needed more (like housing) compared with the cheap Olympics ripoff the Comms games are.

I don’t really have much interest in the Commonwealth games and if it’s going to be a massive loss in budget I’d rather go without it.

Could also do without all the intense media coverage too.

I forgot we were hosting it, but I’m glad the funds allocated are being assigned to more pressing issues. I think Dan made the right call.

About the games specifically, I do not care who hosts it. I haven’t cared about the Commonwealth Games for over a decade.

I think for Andrews it’s a “damned if you do damned if you don’t” situation where the media are concerned. Honestly the media in this country by and large deserves a severe lashing; all reactions and sensationalism and little analysis, absolutely pathetic. I agree with the decision, and was a bit surprised we were going to host it to begin with.
