@lemmyworld oh fun! I can post to Lemmy.world from a random Mastodon account without having an account on lemmy.world. Despite the fact that it appears they mandate I have an account to comment (and presumably post). Let’s see if this post reply works…
Let’s also see what happens if I randomly [at] @infosecpub and @[email protected]
Hello, mastodon user, nice to have you here. 😁
@joyjoy nice of you to have me! I’m now cross-posting multiple Lemmy threads across multiple accounts. Confused but this is honestly thrilling… 😂
Don’t mind me, just want to check if my random self hosted instance works with Mastodon too
This really is pretty incredible. It’s a little rough around the edges now, but with Lemmy gaining popularity fast, I can’t wait to see how much it improves :)
@sass @lemmyworld @infosecpub @[email protected] omg now I’m real confused 🤣. I can post to Lemmy instances from mastodon and randomly @ other Lemmy instances which will in turn create posts there too. @'ing my Mastodon handle works and then I can reply to that post.
It looks like a Lemmy user @joyjoy had no problem replying to my Mastodon-originated post so it would seem that strange issue may be isolated to infosec.pub.
#Fediverse got me spinning tho…
This thread is fascinating. Testing what do top level comments look like on the mastodon end?
Huh, I guess they don’t get federated. What if I @[email protected]
