    Politics is at least 90% tribal. Most people vote for who their parents voted for. Those that don’t, vote the way their peers vote. Ideology is just a post-facto rationalization to convince people they’re right for sticking with their respective tribes.

    Lies and hypocrisy aren’t a bug, it’s a feature. By showing a willingness to lie and be hypocritical it’s proving one’s loyalty to the tribe. Mocking those that point out the hypocrisy further proves loyalty to the tribe.

      Well said, and it happens to both sides of the aisle. Democrats are just as guilty of this as well. Blindly voting for whatever candidates they are told to vote for without question. Which is why they lost this election. Deservedly so.
