President Donald Trump announced on Thursday a series of sweeping faith-based initiatives, including a new presidential commission on religious liberty and an executive order targeting perceived anti-Christian bias. Speaking at the annual National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., Trump also said he would reestablish a White House faith office led by Paula White, a controversial celebrity televangelist and his longtime spiritual adviser.

… Paula White … his longtime spiritual adviser.

That must be why this is the first time I’ve ever heard of her.

This does not sound like a very efficient government office.

Edit to add, since it is a commission on religious liberty there will be an office for muslims, pagans, satanists, and jews too, right?

As a Christian. I have the following opinion.

Fuck you Trump. Fuck the Evangelical bullshitters. Fuck the megachurches. Fuck prosperity Gospel. Fuck ALL of you.

Also. This is blatantly violating the constitutional separation of church and state by promoting the supremacy of one faith over any other. Not that they care. The clapping seals that are his supporters will love this and lap it up while ignoring the steaming trainwreck of everything going on.

"In a 2021 opinion article, Vought wrote that Christian nationalism is “a commitment to an institutional separation between church and state, but not the separation of Christianity from its influence on government and society.”

Russel Vought newly appointed, major contributor to project 2025, plainly stating that separation of Church and State is a one way road… Government can’t touch religion, but religion (only their religion of course) can infect all of government and affect all of us.

      Get ready for blasphemy laws.

I so fucking happy to be alive, the two things I despise most in life running our country: religion and billionaires.

        Blasphemy laws…

Right. Just another tool to beat people with. Gotcha.

Jesus would’ve opened a case of ass beatings on the whole lot of these guys.
