Summary

Trump evicted former Coast Guard Commandant Linda Fagan from her military housing with just three hours’ notice, despite an earlier 60-day waiver.

Fagan, the first woman to lead a military branch, was dismissed on Trump’s second day in office over concerns about DEI policies and border security.

Homeland Security officials cited her termination as justification, though sources called it a “petty” move.

Fagan was forced to leave most belongings behind, spending the night with friends while awaiting relocation of her personal items.

    I am.

But the plumber already charges for the service call + hourly rate + parts + after-hours/holiday emergency surcharge… what is the tip for? Was I supposed to have been tipping my mechanic too all these years?

You don’t have to tip a plumber or a mechanic. They both charge for their time at pretty high rates.

I would tip them if it was on a holiday or in horrible weather or something.

Tipping culture in the US is out of hand, but in my experience most home service people are tipped. The main exception being people there for multiday renovations/work or people not doing manual labor.

Interesting. I tip those who are here for home renovations because they barely even get to leave for lunch.

Yea, possibly at the end, but tipping the same person every day for an extended period feels weird to me. Though I’ve not had any relevant personal renovation experience.
