Yes, statistically.
Realistically, I suspect a lot of those statistics is organized crime. Criminals killing criminals, so not something most people need to be afraid of when walking on the street. But I have no evidence for that.
I dunno man. I’m a white male, grew up with privilege in an upper middle class family.
I’ve had (2) times when totally random people tried to murder me at night. One while I was cycling, another when my friends and I came out of a movie theater and got chased halfway across the city by a carload of thugs.
