He’s like Bill Maher. They both started off opposing religion and being vocal about that was extremely important at the time. But over the years they have leaned into their own personal shitty views which has outweighed their original benefit to the movement.

When both Maher and Dawkins have always been deeply uncurious. At least as long as they’ve been public figures. Like any right wing talking head. I have the answers, you are an idiot.

It’s my perception, at least, that once people give up on curiosity it’s an inevitable slide to bigotry. I think religion does that to a lot of people, but I think it’s an atheistic masturbatory fantasy that this is exclusive to religion.

Dawkins suffers from something a lot of my dad’s professor colleagues (and even my dad, to a lesser extent than some) suffered from- Believing that having a doctorate means you’re an expert on everything.

Dawkins is a scientist, though, and, supposedly, a skeptic. Yet, here he is with his biases leading him by the nose. Fluid gender identity has always been a thing with plenty of documented evidence across many cultures going back, at least, hundreds of years if not thousands.

Yeah, Dawkins is refusing to accept scientific knowledge because it contradicts his personal opinions.
